I know that using EM is said to reduce/mute flavour in general, so I was wondering about the effect of using it on those mixes that are slightly overflavoured.

I have a mix that is close to being tasty, but it just slightly misses. It smells amazing from the bottle, strong, with all the right notes, but when vaped it is lacking the punch that was desired.

I suspect that it is slightly too much flavouring (for my taste buds), so I am asking if rather than diluting with PG/VG/Nic I can just add 0.5 - 1.0% EM to give the same effect?

Has anyone else tried to save an overflavoured mix by using EM?

Did it work?

I will give my mix another week or so of steep (3-4 weeks total) to see if it naturally comes around before I experiment with adding EM.

I have Never found that Adding EM helped an over Flavored Mix.

In fact, for me, the Direct Opposite was True. Adding EM to an over Flavored Mix just turn it into a Chemical Tasting meh.

If you are Trying to save an Over Flavored Mix, adding Unflavored Nicotine Base at the Same mg/ml as the Final Mix might have Better Result.

I would try something like distilled water or saline solution before EM. Say 1-2% or a combination of base and might be better if you are too close to 50\50 where dw or saline alone would make it too runny.

I have had lots of flavors pop with dilution when I over flavored something. seems almost counter intuitive but it works well.

Yeah, I may dilute it slightly (90% original 10% base), or just mix another batch with 90% of the flavouring.

I have been thinking about using saline, I think there is some saline solution (for washing contact lenses) in the bathroom cupboard (0.9%), so I might add 1% of that to the mix, or to a decanted small bottle of the juice to test.
My usual mix is 60VG40PG, so it should be fine.

Not a big fan of EM. It can mute at higher doses. I used it to soften or round out high spots. If you are looking for punch, not sure this will get you there. Citric acid, vinegar, or lemon juice might be a better choice.

I have not tried Citric Acid, but I have tried the other two. Neither worked for me, even with 1 or 2 drops in 10ml I found the taste to be odd, the lemon juice gave me a faint taste of burnt hair. That could be because I used concentrated lemon juice rather than freshly squeezed, I don't know.
Also I found them to reduce the overall flavour intensity after 2-3days, but did give an initial pop.

Maybe Citric Acid should be added to my shopping list.

If you are using Saline, make sure it is PURE saline...do not use contact lens solution as it has other chemicals in it.

    Good to know!

Thankfully I stayed patient and held off on adding EM to it until I got some responses. If I wanted chemical tasting meh then I would just buy some vendor juice ;)

I will just have to try a few different methods to see what works with it, diluting (90% strength and one with added saline).

Yeah, I just had a look at the ingredients and you are very right. I think it might be better if I just made my own saline from distilled water and sea salt.
Contains EDTA & PHMB, which have a range of good properties, but I would highly doubt that vaping would be the best way to administer them.

I get my saline from the bandage area in walmart...its the wound wash stuff and its sterile saline solution.
