That's all I remove. Someone suggested using vodka after the boil and then use a reverse Taryn Spin to clean out the cart.

I take it you're not doing that. how have your results been simply boiling, and how long do you typically let them dry before they can be fully refilled?

I boil mine for about 5 minutes and then force hot water thru them with a large syringe with a baby medicine bottle adapter on the end. Then I keep plunging air thru the carto with the syringe set-up until I no longer see any water coming out - 10-12 pumps. Next I put them in a 170 oven on a cookie sheet for 1 1/2 hours, then turn the oven off and leave them in overnight or at least until the oven is completely cold.

I strongly advise oven-drying to avoid mold that can form in a damp carto filler - you don't want to be vaping mold!

PG is a natural anti-bacterial so mold will not grow in a carto that has PG in it, but it will if it just has water in it.

The boiling might work, but I'd recommend being very careful forcing water through a bloog. A large part of what makes them vape so well is the horizontal coil. However that coil is on a very short wick that sometimes just barely spans the inner tube. Exerting pressure on the coil may dislodge one of the ends of the wick from the tube, and that would be bad unless you know how to dissect and repair it.

Wow. Great ideas and info here, thanks. Does this get the flavor of the previous juice out? I gave mine 2 15-minute boils last night, blew some air threw them orally, then left them on a paper towel to dry while I'm at work (and grow mold, evidently.) However, when I drew air through them today, I could still get a real sense of the previous flavor. I guess that never entirely comes out, or does alcohol achieve that?

Yes - this gets out all previous flavors. I don't feel just blowing thru them gets enough water out - that's why I use the syringe method to force the water out - I have had no problems at all dislodging any parts by doing this.

I cleaned out a stubborn blueberry flavor fairly well by just using the large syringe baby medicine cone thing from CVS. Some flushes with HOT water then Alcohol and repeated a couple times. Then let it dry. It's still hitting like a champ!

Can you link to an image of this thing? I'd be interested in at least trying to clean one, since now I throw them out when they stop vaping well.

I now need a little help. I boiled my Bloog cartos just like everyone else, also used the syringe with more hot water. Put them in the oven to dry. But I took the Blook carto which was an apple, and tried some Velvet Vapors apple, about 15 drops. I did the 45 degree angle for dripping. Some came out of the batt end, I just wiped it off. Let it set for a few mins, tried to vape it and it tasted horrible. Very minimal vapor. Ive watch how too vids but what am I doing wrong?

Lol but sorry if you watch this video to the end he sucks on it like no other and gets no vapor out of it whatsoever and that is exactly what I experienced. I tried it with 808 cartos with 510 cartos and really every carto there and the only way it ever worked for me was putting the cartos in the oven for an hour and even then they just dont work as well. My suggestion is rather throw it away and use a new $1 carto and enjoy your vaping instead of trying to clean them.

Sounds like you guys aren't getting them dry. I clean my cartos between every use. With many of the thick juices, they just don't refill very well.

I typically do three 10-15 minute boils, the first with 1/2 white distilled vinegar. Then I shake them out in the sink....good stiff shakes, like you would a thermometer, mouthpiece end out. Lastly, they go in the oven, standing up vertically, battery side down, at 170 degrees for two hours. They almost always vape like brand new. If not, I toss the carto and grab the next one.

What makes us throw away cartos is the buildup of crud on the coil. The crud forms an insulating barrier between the coil and juice. The coil can't transfer it's thermal energy to the juice efficiently anymore, and the crud starts scorching as a result, making the vape taste like dookie. So to clean a cart "like new", you have to completely remove all the buildup from the coil. I'm starting a bunch of cleaning tests, and taking a pic of the coil after the cleaning is done. To start, here is a coil after only a couple of vapes:

Here is a coil after 5ml of vaping (1 day for me). Lots of crud:

Here is a coil, after 5ml, that was only rinsed with water and dried. Crud still there:

Here we have a carto boiling in water for 10 minutes. I will pull the coil shortly:

First I thought how cool is Fuzznut, he is a scientist like analog is. (He loves his testing.) Then I thought (just for a minute) LOL How in the crap is he getting that to boil on a record? Then I figured it out. Man I can be so dumb sometimes.

Patiently waiting for the results.....
