U.S.P.S. holidays
2011 U.S. Postal Service Holidays
This is the U.S. post office closing schedule for 2011. Most U.S. post office counters should be closed, and no regular mail delivery made on these dates.

Saturday, January 1, 2011 - New Year's Day
Monday, January 17, 2011 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (MLK Day)
Monday, February 21, 2011 - President's Day
Monday, May 30, 2011 - Memorial Day
Monday, July 4, 2011 - Independence Day
Monday, September 5, 2011 - Labor Day
Monday, October 10, 2011 - Columbus Day
Friday, November 11, 2011 - Veterans Day
Thursday, November 24, 2011 - Thanksgiving Day
Monday, December 26, 2011 - Christmas (observed)
Monday, January 2, 2012 - New Year's (observed)

Since both Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on Sunday in 2011, those holidays are observed the following Monday.

Hold Mail or Redelivery cannot be scheduled to begin or end on the above USPS holiday dates.

NOTE: Although they strive for uniformity in their operating schedule, unforeseen circumstances, severe weather, fires, floods and other natural and manmade disasters can sometimes cause the temporary closure of post offices, or alter lobby hours beyond the scope of the above U.S. Postal Service holidays.

In some locations, when an additional surcharge is paid, Express Mail deliveries can be made even on the official U.S.P.S. shipping holidays listed above. But no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services are available on Postal holidays.
