The Caliburn G4 Classic is the new premium member of the celebrated Caliburn line, crafted especially for UWELL’s 10th anniversary. This time the device’s exclusivity lays in its purest simplicity, its minimalistic aesthetics and the ultra-high-grade materials and processes that were used to establish this peace of masterwork. A decent 1400 mAh built in battery, max 35W of power, ultrafast dual air sensors for the perfect auto-draw, a delicate micro-pressure fire button and unique ambient LED motions will enchant you to vaping wonderland!
Design and functionality:
I received the device in Classic Silver and there are 4 distinguished colors available to choose from (Classic Silver, Classic Black, Alpine Green, Abyss Blue). The Caliburn G4 Classic is where art meets innovation!
Usually I am not taking photo's of the packaging, however this time I would like to show you how nicely the device is packed - like a premium smarthone. And the stickers that have been included are an awesome gift, which ended up immediately with my son.
The G4 Classic boasts an innovative uni-body frame, that is made of aerospace grade TX aluminium alloy. This unique frame is precision-crafted trough countless micro-level CNC machining processes and is finished with a zirconia-smooth surface to create a pure experience as natural as breathing.
A matrix of 14 miniature RGB LEDs delivers vibrant, dynamic feedback that breathe life into every puff. These LEDs mimic the glowing ash of a traditional cigarette and reminds us of the classic e-cigarette sticks, giving the device a retro twist. At the end of the draw the LEDs indicate the battery level: green (high), blue (medium) and red (low).
The G4 Classic boasts a dual airflow and dual activation system. The airflow can be precisely adjusted with the recessed airflow-slider at the side and there next the GPP cartridge is reversible, which provides an extra option to restrict or loosen the airflow, since at the bottom of the pod smaller and wider bores are available. This is a true MTL device that can be very finely adjusted to your taste and preference.
The unique micro-pressure button activates the vapor production instantly in milliseconds. The auto-draw operates with two sensors: the primary and backup sensors are working in tandem to deliver an uninterrupted and reliable vaping experience. This mechanism maximises the auto-draw’s lifespan and delivers an uninterrupted and reliable vaping experience.
The device promotes simplistic functionality: with one small click the fire button is activated, with two clicks the fire button can be locked/unlocked and with five clicks the device will be turned on/off.
Battery performance:
The G4 Classic has an ample 1400 mAh built-in high-density battery and supports 2A fast-charging; it charges in about 40 mins and gives me a good 3 days of heavy use with one charge. The battery level is shown at the bottom of the device after a draw is taken or when the fire button is pressed.
Size and weight:
29*16.6*115.9 mm, 68.5 grams. Made of aerospace grade TX aluminium alloy.
The G4 Classic blends comfortably into your palm and is ultra lightweight. What I found special is that you would expect that touching the bare frame would be cold, but the material spreads the warmth of your body almost instantly, synergizing with your body temperature.
Pod/Cartridge:
The Caliburn G4 Classic is compatible with the whole palette of the GPP cartridges and comes with the new 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω meshed Kanthal disposable cartridges. The extended 3 ml e-liquid capacity is suitable to cover a full working day of worry-free vaping experience. The cartridge is side-filling and can easily be refilled without detaching it from the base. The e-liquid level can be monitored trough the oversized clear-view window at the back of the device.
I tested the G4 Classic for two weeks with Crazy Up’s line: Moonstone and Draft of Peace, two beautiful melanges. I certainly wanted to examine first the 0.4Ω cartridge that operates at the device’s maximum performance of 35W. And right there I was enchanted into la-la land, I couldn’t believe that I will ever experience such a satisfying nicotine and throat hit from a pod-system with a relatively low 8mg nicotine content. There is something very special what these Caliburn GPP cartridges can offer, probably because of the combination of Kanthal coils and high wattage. While the flavor and vapor production are moderate, they provide a fulfilling, cigarette like experience, even when chain-vaping. You will feel that throat tickling nicotine sensation with every puff. I will definitely keep this device with the 0.4Ω cartridge in my daily rotation.
The 0.6Ω cartridge I have borrowed to my Caliburn G3 Lite, giving it a beautiful new life. This pod operates at 25W which also provides the aforementioned nic-hit experience, even with a slightly lower-end device. I am happy that the new GPP cartridges are cross-compatible with both of my devices, moreover throughout the whole G3/G4 Caliburn line.
Final verdict:
I am fully impressed by the minimalistic design of the G4 Classic and I’m delighted by the GPP cartridges, UWELL has marked a milestone here and set the standards. It is the worthiest celebration of 10 years of craftsmanship and professionality, I am happy UWELL has presented us with such an invention at this noble anniversary.
