Hey guys, so I am fairly new to vaping, about a month in. Started off on a Nautilus to get me off of cigarettes, bit it was a hand me down and it kept getting ejuice in my mouth no matter what I did. Went down to a local vape shop and they sold me on the original Crown. I decided to get some 1.2 ohm coils to start off with. Just started using it today at between 20-25 Watts...worked great for a few minutes then vapor production went way down and the hits felt too hot for my liking. I was coughing after every hit and hardly any vapor coming out. Coils dont seem flooded, also my tank was getting kind of warm. I do chain vape and slowed down a lot when I was using the Crown but I am at a loss and getting frustrated that so far it seems impossible to just get something that works properly without troubleshooting every 10 drags. Any advice would be awesome! Thank you!!

I did a brief Google search and came up with a 10-30 Watt range for the 1.2 Ohm :

Is that correct? If so, you are close to the top end of the recommended range for the coil at 25 Watts. Also I don't know what kind of VG/PG mix you are using. If you are using too much VG then you might not be getting enough juice to your coils because it's too thick. If you are using too little VG then your vapor won't have any fluffiness (I know, that sounds stupid, fluffy fluffy fluffy) and you'll get too much throat hit. With a coil rated at 10-30W I'd try it at 15W with 50VG/50PG @12-18 mgs nic. Then I'd slowly crank it up towards 20W to find the sweet spot.

Yeah I think you are right! Plus I think I made a newbie error and didnt prime the coil properly. Let it sit for another 30-45 minutes and dropped the wattage down to 17 and it is working like a charm now...it is tough trying to figure out new equipment while quitting smoking! Lol

I remember switching, all the info intake made my head spin for months lol. Smoking was so easy to figure out. Shouldnt need to wait that long but a few drops down the center and couple drops on each juice inlet then wait 5-10mins. In my experience if a coil says 10-30w you better be running 50/50 juice at 30w or just taking a few 1-2 second puffs once in awhile. Always start a fresh coil low (10w here) to start and increase it slowly every few puffs till you get desired vape.

I'm not familiar with the tank but those coil options look really good. 1) 10-30W, 2) 30-80W, 4) 80-120W, 5) TC 400-600 degrees. That's a great set up. If those coils work well then that would cover my entire vape range.
If it sounds good you should get one for sure. Its older, Uwell has come out with a few since then but the original was the best in most peoples opinion. I believe it was the first or one of the first to use SS wire instead of kanthal.

No! No more tanks, lol. It is tempting but I already have six different coils I am using at a bare minimum.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Your coil wire retains heat after you fire it up for the second or third firing. I find that's a good time as any to reduce the wattage (depending on the flavor) down a couple of tenths. Your lucky you started with non sub ohm'g, many folks stumble about trying to figure out vaping for quite awhile. Since vaping is totally scalable, the choice you have can be overwhelming. The main thing to remember is part of vaping is all about you, the vaper, being in control and the freedom to fix/tailor any aspect you feel you need to improve. I and others will help if asked.
