V2.5 not reaching 3.5 Amp limit

The ProVari is supposed to have a 3.5 Amp limit, but when I use a 1.9Ω atty I get an E2 error if I exceed 5.4 volts. According to the online Ohm's Law calculator 5.5V should only be 2.895 amps. 6V should only be 3.158 amps, below the stated limit.

Any ideas? Problem with the board maybe?

You are hitting the 14.5 watt limit. 5.4*5.4/1.9=15.35watts. This Provape documentation should help you.
