LOL I'll trade you any day, krashnash! I'm a misplaced Texan entirely too close to South Dakota. I love Austin! But it was nice to visit Deadwood and Mt. rushmore....but i'd take 6th street any day

Heh - no trades, no take backs! I've moved mountains and sacrificed much to stay in the sun, I remember all too well what sub-zero days and snow in April felt like. I tell ya what, I'll give you 6th street (and all of the tourists and drunks and panhandlers and under-employed musicians), no trade required, as long as I get to keep Zilker Park, and Lake Travis, and the Wildflower Trail, and my awesome commute to work along Bull Creek, and Auditorium Shores, and Mount Bonnell, and.........
:)

aw you're gonna make me cry with homesickness! I was once one of those unemployed musicians on 6th street... I'm missing the Texas bluebonnets again this year --sigh. When I was a kid you could write to Lady Bird Johnson and she'd send you a pack of bluebonnet seeds to throw out the car window ...

If it makes you feel any better, we're in a bad drought (again) and you have to hunt pretty hard for the bluebonnets this year. There are at least a gazillion black-eyed-susans along Bull Creek, but not a single bluebonnet. And no offense meant re: unemployed musicians, my husband is one of them - I do my part to support live music in Austin, I support a live musician! :)
