Is there a way to view the "New Posts" for just the V4L Subforum? When I hit "new posts" I get all ECF. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Hi LS9, no I don't think there is a way to checck new posts just for the sub-forum.

Hi all. I went ice skating this morning, first time in months. THe ice was good (for a change) and not too many people. I've lost a lot of skills over the time, but did okay. Even managed a couple of small jumps and some okay spins. Of course, I'm paying for it now . Bits of me are very sore now. I'd forgotten just how much I can hurt after skating. Anyway, it was nice to skate again. After that, I went shopping.
What? That doesn't count. It was the shopping I was going to do the other day but couldn't be bothered. Plus I hardly bought anything anyway...

Sounds like a fun day Katz. :)
I volunteered yesterday at the thrift shop for the youth programs here as part of seeing if I can get the part time job.
Interviews are Friday and as proof of this economy tons of ladies want this job .
It is not glamorous or high paying but it would keep me busy ,thinking, and active and help out a little plus being rewarding.
Commute of 3 miles woo hoo so i can totally deal with that .People are nice so its really a win -win .
At least until /unless good jobs come back and i feel like commuting .
I am not an early morning person anymore and they dont open till 11am so its perfect :)
The high school volunteers are really sweet and helpful so it would be cool .
We'll see .Hoping my locale gives me a leg up .

Hi LS9 :)

As Katz said, there is no way to just see new posts in the V4L subforum, other than to come to this subforum itself and look for all the threads whose titles are bolded (I think it works the same on the V4L site Forum).

You can also click "My Posts" under "What's New?" at the top of the page, and it will show you all threads in which you personally have posted (such as this one) that have new (unread) posts.

Losing is worse, but gaining has knocked my routine out this year. I so desperately need sleep and my best sleeping time is between 6-9am. Guess what time DH & DD are up & about getting ready for school? DH comes in to say goodbye, throws open the curtains, plonks a cat onto the bed.

Good evening everyone. Hope you all had a good weekend. I am tired from the bowling tournament and didn't bowl worth a poo. Had a lot of fun with my young ladies (they keep me on my toes) probably drank too much beer and will be in bed early tonight. I'm probably going to regret this later...but am attaching our team photo (I'm the old lady on the right)
Everyone have a great evening..

I took one of our cats to the vet this morning - just to get his claws clipped. They were so long & sharp, when he walked across the carpet he made a noise cos they were catching - aka "velcro cat"
Just couldn't face doing it ourselves, finally decided to get the vet nurse to do it. She told me she gets the vet to trim her cat's claws, which made me feel less of a wuss. Anyway, cat is not talking to me at the moment. The other one is just confused - but then he often is.

I love seeing photos of our V4L family, you're braver than I am Iowa Gal, you won't be seeing pics of this kittykat on here.

It seems to help ,if they know to go to their posts ...shes pretty good about it .I have my sofa and loveseat in storage but when i got it i was very firm with her and then we bought this sticky tape for furniture that goes on all corners ( unless you are looking for it you cant see it as its clear ) they don't like it at all and she learned that way .Mostly I just praise for using scratching posts ..."good kitty " etc .She does know, but depends on the cat's personality i guess .
i.e. firm as in verbal usage :) I would pick her up and take her to post instead ...

 cats hate that! "If I wanted to scratch there, I would've. Honestly..."

Obviously outdoor cats shouldn't need their claws trimmed. Our cats get real grappling hook claws and sharp like needles, ouch! I don't think it does help with upholstery at all though; only firm, consistent tellings off seem to do that.

Anyway, it's done for another 3 months. When they go back in for their annual shots & check-up they can have them done again. We got out of synch because the other cat had some teeth out, and had his claws trimmed while under anaesthetic. Yup, definitely the best claw trim he's ever had
