Hello my vaping family!

I've missed being here lately. I'm finally caught up on this thread! Oh yeah, last Friday was great; went to meet the great-nephew, and drove 400 miles. Easy peasy.

Saturday was the freak ice/snow storm that took out my power from 6:30 pm to Tuesday at 3:30 pm. No light, no stove, no land-line, no heat, no coffee, no ECF, and no way to charge my batteries unless I could get into my car. I have a detached garage, and the electric garage door didn't work. There is a side door and I finally found the key Sunday afternoon, so I was continually charging either my cell phone or a battery screwed into the PCC plugged into the USB car adapter. I have to get more batteries! I have some decent XL manuals, but it's not nearly enough.

If I could have gotten the garage door open, my car would not have been able to go far as I was plowed-in. As it was, you couldn't get anywhere from here, as there were fallen trees, branches, and power lines laying on the streets. Saturday night was cold, but Sunday night was colder and I woke up Monday to 57 degrees indoors so I stayed in bed until 1 pm because that's when the sun shines into the front windows. I did the "cat thing" and hung out in the warmth of the "window sun." I was able to use my smart-phone as a wireless modem and pay a few bills with my remaining laptop charge, thank goodness!

A friend from the next town over called me on Monday afternoon and she had ELECTRICITY! She never lost hers and she invited me to stay over. I packed (via flashlight) a change of clothes, my laptop, 5 V4L batteries, 3 AC chargers, 1 pass-through, 2 new blank cartomizers, a syringe, and an unopened bottle of wowboy. Okay, okay, I really didn't want to pack the needle and I would have preferred to bring a bunch of filled cartos but ran out of time after packing other stuff.

I'm so glad I brought that syringe. That bottle of wowboy was the 3rd of the 4 wowboy bottles ordered together in June. I shook the bottle as always. I unscrewed the cap and there was no dropper tip on the bottle and it wasn't stuck to the inside of the cap. There was just a big HOLE...!

A couple of drops got lost in the inside of the cap from my shaking. No harm done as I was able to draw the juice with the syringe and fill the cartos. No way I could have dripped into the cartos with that bottle. I've now checked all the juice I have, and they all have their proper dropper! Freak storm and freak bottle!

Hurricane Irene was nothing compared to this storm. It looks like a war zone out there. All those trees still at peak foliage, with the weight of the snow/ice snapping off branches on some trees while other trees just fell wholly, blocking foot or car traffic. We have had plenty of ice/snow on bare trees in the winter-proper without this kind of devastation.
They even postponed Halloween until today (Friday).

Waylon, I thought of you quite a bit because I know you truly understand the joy of having the house all to yourself for a weekend.

My DH had a business trip from Saturday to Tuesday. I was giddy with anticipation for weeks, he left at 6:00 am, and by 6:30 pm I had lost all power. I was so looking forward to watching whatever whenever, doing chores at any hour I damn pleased, eating breakfast for dinner, and running with scissors. I was going to go and renew my expiring license at the DMV on Monday but now I'm totally expired and I'm not really in the mood to go to the DMV or hand out treats today. I survived the blackout of 1977 in NYC. I can deal without power in the summertime, but not NOW!
:(

I'm not quite feeling back to normal yet, folks.

Today has been another long terrible day in a long horrible week. At least I'm getting about 13 hours of ot, but having 4 11+ days in a row is torture...

Anyone see Mark sir's and Ms. Keyzy's new blogs by the way? :)

this week has been extremely tough for me too. happy friday and an extra hour of sleep tomorrow!

Ms. ThankU4Vaping glad you're ok at least. Was wondering if you were in that part of NJ. Syringes are a life saver yet again.... :)

Ms. RandaPanda hope it gets better for you next week.... :)

Ms. Keyzy tell them they better confirm it or a certain insane individual from the dc area will be making a visit... A kidney a day from one of their loved ones until they ok your surgery... :)

Good evening, all. :)

I'm just not a happy person these last few weeks. I want it to go away

I'm so sorry, RandaPanda. Given your family history, and the shortening days, this is likely to be a rough time of year for you for years to come. :( Sometimes the very best way to make unhappiness go away is to do something (or several somethings) extra-nice for somebody else -- or several somebody elses. Friends, strangers, whatever. Focus your thoughts, and your heart, on lifting someone else's spirits for a few days -- it can do wonders for your own.

Uuuuh....maybe just wear some sunglasses?

Happy Friday everyone.

Here's a video that reminded me of the folks on this forum:

Im pretty sure I convinced the surgeon to do my surgery on Dec 14th.Still waiting confirmation on it.I better get my Christmas shopping for my family done pretty quick.Im so nervous lately with the holidays and the surgery all sneaking up on me so quick.I just keep telling myself that it will all be fine.

It will all be fine, Keyzy. :) And good on ya for making those docs move the date back to this calendar year!

Hey folks. Busy last few days so I haven't completely caught up yet.

My wife's car, aka the family car, is having serious issues now. Just replaced the alternator on my car, using up all of the money I'd saved, and I'm guessing her car is going to need major transmission work. I'm staying pretty positive despite this, but my wife is having a lot more trouble keeping her chin up. She'd been the family money manager for years and is used to stressing out about all things money, but since I took over, she's been better. Something like this though, and she's having trouble coping.

I'm doing my best to play the part of supportive caring husband. It gets tough when I'm secretly freaking out as well, but I'm trying. This is just one of the many valleys in life's non-stop roller coaster, right?

Talk to you all later! Off to my father-in-law's company "picnic" I guess you'd call it? Bye! :)
