hey veterans or anyone who can help
i have the elusion ecig and am considering purchasing the Shorty starter kit from Vapor4Life as my secondary set of ecigs and my final ecigs purchase
I really prefer the short V4L ones as my elusion ecig is a super mini. Is there anyone who has tried to long version and short versions from Vapor4Life and provide some feedback as to which ones better , difference in battery life etc

thanks

A bigger battery is always going to be better, for two reasons:

- It lasts longer. As a rough guide, it's about 1 hour per 125mAh, although this depends on your particular usage characteristics, and how honest the vendor is about the real capacity of the battery (it is unlikely to be as much as they say, but since they all have to compete against each other, it's very difficult for one supplier to be totally honest as his batteries will look 'worse' than everyone else's).

- A bigger battery will suffer from less voltage drop under load, therefore you should get a slightly stronger vape. Few if any batteries under 1000mAh can run an atty without a considerable voltage drop, as the load is at least 1 amp (which equals 1000mA). A general rule with batteries is that although all loads cause a voltage drop, that drop becomes unacceptably high when the load is higher than the battery's capacity figure. It still works of course, but performance is not optimal. In batteries, size is everything.

The drawback is that the larger V4L batteries won't fit in their PCC, if you use that. But all these cells qualify as tiny in real terms, so you would need to carry several and/or a charger or PT.

I heard that V4L are working on a large-format battery like the eGo/Tornado/Riva type, so before long they should have a solution to this issue.

Vapor4Life sells batteries of three different lengths:

Both the shorty and the regular (which is longer than the shorty) will fit in their PCC. The XL will not. The respective mAh are 180, 280, and 380.

"Vapor King" is V4L's brand name for the Kr8 model. My favorite Kr8 is Bloog's new MaxX Fusion, available in super-mini and mini lengths, both of which function superbly. It's pricey, but really not that much more than the Vapor King. I reviewed the MaxX Fusion a few weeks ago: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...13-maxx-fusion-finally-vapable-supermini.html The title of the review gives you a good idea what I recommend.

There already are large-format batteries (what I call "fat batts") for the Kr8 model. The first was CigEasy's 750 mAh Elegant ($60 for a two-battery kit), which I reviewed back in June 2010: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...101915-cigeasy-s-kr8-elegant-ego-rest-us.html. There is also LeCig's 650 mAh PigCig ($75 for a two-battery kit).
