I think you guys are confusing mail addiction with actual vape supply cost. It's much cheaper to vape - there's no debating that fact. The problem lies in the boutique market and controlling one's desires.

As Uncle always notes, it is simply a matter of deciding need versus want.

Personally, I find the rampant consumerism of this forum/community to be rather appalling. And I am one of the guilty. It's little wonder the government's ears are perked.

Every online community has the "new toys" commercialism. The competition bbq forums are full of $10k-and-up trailer rigs, $8k cookers (yes, just a cooker!), teams who spend $750+ on meat for a competition - just to produce 4 entries of 6 servings each - and so forth.. It isn't necessary to compete, but the people chilling with their $50 drum smokers aren't posting. (Even if they are winning..) The soapmaking communities are just as bad, although it tends to be a bit cheaper. (More on the level of this stuff..) Same for candies or baking.

The gov is interested because it is both a "sin" item with no tax and a food item with no health dept oversight..

Know what it takes to start a home cupcake business in most places? (Or bbq sauces/rubs? Or any other food item..) Start with a commercial kitchen - you can't do it at a home, has to be a separate building. Cheapest option for most people is to farm it out - there are companies who will take your recipe and make it, for a price. Alternately, buy a food truck and get it certified/inspected/etc. Even if it never leaves the driveway. (Oh, and at least half a dozen health dept classes. Don't forget the random spot-inspections, registration fees, tax documents, etc..)

Know what it takes to start selling juice? Some jars and a measuring cup...

Just looking at some of these pyrex tanks & am new to vaping & mods in general...how hard is it to replace the cartomizers in these?

Easy Peasy - I have arthritis and fill them quickly and will little mess or issues - some info for you, look over the website and watch the videos.

Triple V Pyrex Tank
This grommet was custom made to fit this tank. It has a very tight seal. The easiest method to fill this particular tank, will be to use a syringe, slid between the cartomizer and the grommet. Here is a video that shows how to fill the tank.

Triple V Fill Pin
This is a uniquely designed tank fill tool.
It will allow you to insert cartomizers through tank caps (not for grommet tanks) without damaging the O-rings.
It's also designed to be partially lowered into the tank for the purpose of filling the tank. No syringe needed!
The liquid gets added through the top of the pin which is big enough to allow filling from your typical juice dropper style bottle.
Here's a video on how to use this Fill Pin

If I was spending twicw as much vaping as I did smoking, I'd still do it because vaping has saved my life.. literally. And the same is true for a lot of you young people too.

(chat)

That is true, and right now I kinda AM spending 2x as much. Most of that is new toys though.. once you settle into a groove you can keep going for a few bucks a week if that is your goal. (I saw a blog post that said 4 batteries a year, 2ml a day and new clearo every 2 weeks was something like $1.50 a day.. My smokes were $7.50 a pack and I did just over 1 a day, plus 1-2 extras on the weekends. Adds up fast.)

ETA: First friend I knew who switched flipped a few years back and he is currently dripping on cisco attys with a provari etc etc. Saved a TON of money, even using his high-end gear. (He does his own juices too, but even before that he was telling me how cheap it was..)

Thanks! Also, one more question if you don't mind. My brother-in-law has to cut/drill/modify (can't remember exactly what he said) the cartomizer before he can put it into his tank...is this also the same for these kinds of tanks? Can you buy them that way? Again...I may not be explaining this right as I am very new to all this & just trying to understand.

Not totally caught up BUT..

You can use a Kill A Watt load meter to test what each electrical device is using. I have one. Used it to size wire/breakers for an addition. Wanted to see what my computer and fish tanks were pulling so not to over load stuff. Around $20 or less.

this is a great idea, waiting on landlord to return my call, hopefully her maintenance men have one

I hate using a tank unless I have at least 30 mils.... that way I won't feel like I have wasted my carto! They can last that long with lighter and thinner juices!
exactly how i feel, i have only 2 30ml bottles, and 30 5-10s.
gotta place an order with ray soon, could really use another tank and some punched carts

This is called 'punching a carto' as the others mentioned... Some cartos have holes drilled, 1 hole, 2 holes, 3 holes, depends on the thickness of the juice, I think. Ray has one that I can tighten the screw on by hand. If I can do it, anyone can :p

3- Got back from the wife's Dr. Appt and had two boxes sitting out, one was planes and stuff, fun but even more exciting was a box from Ray. Got my Evic in tossed a battery in her and wow. 19 puffs in and it tells me how many puffs @ each voltage setting, has 1.1 on it going to update to 1.2 later today.
So far I like it, but I am a computer nerd so I will download all of the files and start cracking to see what everything does and try to make a file that will be perfect for me. Oh and seeing what the resistance is when I plug in the atty is just the cats meow.
This is my first real high tech mod, and so far I am loving it, going to need something as a back up as well, but that will be in a month or two this thing is solid, feels real good in the hand to me as well. Charging up the battery that came with it as well.

CHAT -

Just had a vape of the DIY I made yesterday...

Sour/Sweet Green Apple - it's magnificent after a hot water bath... the citrus punch flavor has died down and now it is a bit Sweet Tarty... that must be the 20% sour & the cotton candy coming out. I was going to send samples of my juice to everyone and I started making labels and filling quart bags... then I ran out of all of my new bottles. I decided that wasn't going to work, so I am sending you noodleheads a GC to a reputable juice maker. Just a Heyho, I appreciate you being here each day <3

Lisa! I'd love to try your creation, I am currently saving up my emptys for Oak, but could send a couple your way as well, they are mostly 5ml :)

I've got a spreadsheet (google docs) I can share out as a template if anyone wants it. Tracks spending, income, savings and gives a break-even date. Even lets you 'wishlist' future items and doesn't count them until you put an order date in.. (My wishlist right now is an AiV sampler, a travel case and the 'texas' tank from some random vendor ;))
Id love to have that spread sheet! could show it to the wifey so she hassles me less about my vapemail and purchases :)
