After doing a lot of reading about what batteries to use, (of course after I had already ordered batteries) I am a bit freaked out about using the vamo now. I purchased two Ultrafire 1200 mah unprotected batteries and 1 Panasonic cgr18650cg, now both batteries have worked and actually the ultrafires seemed to work pretty well. I just tried the Panasonic and that works well too, but it's the cg not the ch, so the amp limit is 2.5 instead of 10 like the ch. I was just wondering could I continue to use these until my panasonic cgr18650ch comes along or should I just go back to the twist until then.

Welcome to ECF , and using unprotected batteries , is kinda like unprotected sex . Maybe nothing bad will happen , but what if . As long as you keep a very close eye on them , and dump them out , if it feels like their starting to get warm . You don't want to be near your PV , if the battery goes . If you can't get the battery out immediately , throw it down , and run for the hills . And just having , so called protected batteries is no guaranty . But stacking batteries , is not a recommended practice . I use an 18650 in my Vamo , and that's all I use in it . But all this being said , I have been at this for nearly two years , and in that time , I've only had one " non-protected battery " start to get hot . dumped it on the ground , and when it cooled down , I got rid of it . But using your Twist is not the end of the world either . Good Luck , whatever you choose to do .
