There's some talk going on in vaperjoe's facebook that the vamo from FT are all plated brass, even the stainless steel ones. Did you buy the SS or the chrome vamo? How is the quality of it? Some vamo owners who bought their vamo from FT said that their SS vamo weighs less than a chrome vamo from US vendors.

I've never held another Vamo, and I don't know what chrome looks like in person, but this one I ordered SS and it came with a brushed finish, not fingerprint-able, and I don't see any colors inside the battery tube or threads. How can you tell if it's plated?

What a coincedence, my Vamo came today also. I bought the kit, came with 2 18350 flat tops and 2 Vivi Nova's. Hmmm, never used one before. Tried it with mt T3 and it tasted burnt. Whoops, turns out it was set to 15w!!!

Switched it to NO2 and ah! That's better.

Go us!!

LOL yep, that will do it.

I figure I'll probably never get mine over 8w, and I wouldn't have even figured that high except I seem to like Vivi Nova higher than I do my eGo-Cs.

Its not unusual for the stainless steel to weigh less than the chrome. Depends on the type of steel. This came up before about another pv that is stainless steel.

The SS VAMO I got from VaporBreak is very well made, and it is definitely stainless steel. If you work with metals a lot, you can tell stainless steel from across the room, it has a very unique color.

Also, I've never heard of using stainless steel to plate. You can brass plate stainless steel via nickel plating first.
Stainless is much harder to machine though, and it generally takes three times longer to do then brass or aluminum would.

I've heard a lot of people saying they got chrome when they ordered stainless from Fasttech. But I've also seen pictures of people asking if what they had was chrome and it was stainless, the stainless Vamos are polished more than most people expect but there are still machining marks that the chrome doesn't have.

I'll be able to tell if I get stainless and I hope I do because I've got some ideas for modding the looks that I couldn't do with chrome.
