A nice 'fix' but not an inexpensive fix. That tubing is pricey. Nice job!

Ummm...... I am thinking you are seeing something that I am not. To me it looks like he removed the + - buttons. Curious what you see? Lord knows I have been wrong before, just ask my wife!!!!

Well maybe I jumped to the wrong conclusion. I was thinking he used tubing and not a wrap and the buttons 'became' recessed.

Removed the buttons. The left one had lost its "click" and was constantly changing the output. I fixed that :) I did that while replacing the connector. I cut the top off of an old ego, filled the inside of the connector with steel epoxy putty, and replaced the center pin with a screw that is isolated using a vinyl washer. I'd be really surprised if I ever have center post issues ever again.

I'm having trouble with my Vamo shutting off between each puff when I use 18360 batts (no matter which of the six I have). Seems to work fine w/out shutting off when I use the 18350.
Anyone else have this happen and know how to fix?

I am not familiar with the 18360 battery but I am thinking you meant 18650 battery. Are they nipple top or flat top?? Either way, are you noticing any battery rattle? If you are not getting any error codes when it turn off, I would give the spring a little stretch.

Oh, sorry-yes, I meant the long batteries 18650 2000mah IMR AW batts. I have stretched the spring and still it shuts off. I even put on the extra end cap from my older Vamo on it and still, it shuts down. Weird thing is, the batts (nipple tops all) work ok on my old Vamo.

Mine was coming apart at the seam below the head. Just a little gap and it was causing mine to just die. Make sure you see no gaps there. It pressure fitted, no screwing.

same with mine and it's SS

Can SS be soldered? welded?
Thinking of getting my bud to drop a couple of spot welds on the inside so my J Wrap won't be distorted.

slip the two joints apart and using an automatic center punch, make some dimples on the inside tube where they wont be seen from the outside. . The distortion to the metal should give it some grip. The other option is JB weld. But then it is never coming apart. :2c:

Great ideas :thumb:

Does JB Weld work with stainless?

I have not personally used it with stainless steel but would be worth a shot. I do know that it does not stick to chrome. I can scratch it off with my finger nail. Just make sure you clean it well. I use isopropal alcohol to clean the items I want to weld. Might want to ruff up the stainless with some sandpaper first.

I would rough it up and I use denatured alcohol for cleaning steel. I'm considering it. Thanks
