I have noticed that sometimes on my vamo v5 when I build a coil it makes a fast regular pulsing noise, not the cracking that the juice makes on the coil but a regular noise, is this normal or should I be worried about it? Could it be a short? The coil consistantly measures at 2 ohms and works so I assume it is not a short? Thanks.

Ah good but it only does it sometimes which is odd, maybe it depends on how the coil is made and how tight the wick is... As long as it's not going to blow up then no problem... So if I make a coil and it consistently reads the resistance the same does this mean there is no chance of a short? I made it once and a wire was loose and it was measuring 2.0 then 3.5 then 9.9 etc. But if it is consistently at 2.0 then there is no chance of a short right? If there is a short the Vamo will not work at all or read inconsistent ohms?

Running any VV/VW rig in Mean instead of RMS will yield a higher vaping power. The vapor may seem more harsh in Mean but running at higher power in RMS will do exactly the same thing. RMS values are lower and more accurate across the power spectrum than Mean.

So its better to use RMS at a higher wattage?

Depends on what you want. The indicated power or voltage will be more accurate with RMS. If you want the best performance with high voltage or power (RMS or Mean) with the Sigelei Zmax V3 you run it with 2x18350 and if you really want to push the limit do it on Mean. I read that the V3s will crank out 19 watts on Mean while it is limited to 15 watts on RMS. I haven't tried this, though. I rarely want more than 8 watts. Vamo probably works in much the same way.

I read in the battery safety thread on here that it is not a good idea to use stacked batteries so I think I will stick with the 1 x 18650.
