I haven't used my 3 month old V2 much since discovering REOs so was getting ready to sell it but discovered it has become flaky.

In VV mode, I can vape all dat at 3.2V, but if I go any higher, it shuts down.

In VW mode, I can vape all day at 4.0W, but it shuts down if i go any higher.

After it shuts down I have to pop the battery and put it back in then turn it on, and the cycle will repeat itself.

The clearo tests at 2.2 ohms on this and other devices. Also, I am absolutely in no2.

Seems to me the chip has become flaky but wondering if anyone else has seen this and had a simple fix. Replacing the chip wouldn't be possible.

Any chance the battery is bad?

And if it is the chip, I did see a vendor selling replacements recently. I can't remember where at the moment, but you could buy the whole unit with the screen attached. I do remember thinking that you could almost buy a new VAMO for the same price, however.

yeh. switched batts. replacing the chip is not an opyion. i'm disabled and unable to take it apart.

were batts the same type? my vamo works fine with unprotected panasonic but it gets funky with other batts.

weird. i'm not sure what the first battery was. i swapped it out (to an Ultrafire i got from the classies w/ another mod i bought) before i made the first post.

i swapped it again with a panny and it seems to be working ok now.

i'll krrp an eye on it, but thanks for the idea!

Sitting down, facing forward.
As an aside, I checked current draw on both a V1 and V2. At ten watts neither drew more than about four amps. It could be a problem with the protection circuit in the battery IF it's a protected battery. IMR batteries are the best choice for a Vamo and one rated at 10C or more is also a good idea.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it. Your results and mileage may vary. No warranty or guaranty is expressed of implied. Proceed at your own risk. The user accepts all liability.

You need high drain batteries. I may be wrong, but I don't think Ultrafires are high drain (IMR, though I think there's a new chemistry out that works as well). You should never use ICR batteries in a VV device as they can explode. Are the Ultrafires protected? In any case, I think the amp draw is too much for the Ultrafire battery to handle. Stick with Panasonic, Samsung, Efest, AW, and I think Sony has some decent batteries. I'm not a fan of Ultrafire or Trustfire batteries.

I recall somewhere that there's a "RESET" - something like holding down a button while you insert a battery.
It's used when you change from 1 to 2 stacked batteries or back - but might also be helpful here.
Or worth a try..

Anyone with more info on this reset? I think this might fix a problem i'm having with my vamo

Had my 5 week old VAMO ViVi go bad on Saturday - turned the device on and I could hit it one time and the got a display of "Lo" on the LED. No function - I had just put a fully charged battery in the device - changed the battery (another fully charged) and got the same thing one hit and the "Lo". I tested the battery and they checked out - decided to contact FastTech and they are going to replace it - high humidity for the past two weeks here - had a carto tank leak - so not sure what caused it but I miss my VAMO.

Dang - I cannot find the thread!!
I've searched, but can't locate it!
Maybe post a question with "reset my vamo?" in the title? I could have sworn that someone explained it fully in a post, and I even recall a mention that it's in the directions booklet? I don't even HAVE a VAMO yet, so I can't tell you the procedure!
Someone will know!!

Anyone with more info on this reset? I think this might fix a problem i'm having with my vamo

I wasn't aware of the Vamo having this feature. I know the Innokin SVD does. I swap back and forth between an 18650 and stacked 18350's in my vamo and do not 'reset' anything.

albcig has nailed it. There are many reports of Vamo malfunctioning when using protected batteries. This is no way means it WILL malfunction, just that it's a known issue.
