Ive been vaping the V5 for a while now and love it, so I would have to recommend it. The one downside to it was actually getting it in my hands. I ordered from fasttech and it took a total of three and a half months to get in my hands. That time included it being sent back to them because of the whole china post battery shipping issue, then i received a defective device and had to send it back for a new one. But all in all, it was worth it. Maybe shipping time would be better for the sid, depending on where you get it. The sid is a one button device though, and I like having the three buttons.

looking at the V3 and the V5.. I have both. There are some very slight differences. The vamo V3 I have is gunmetal, so I wanted to get the Stainless Steel, so the difference between the gunmetal Vs. the stainless is what I can review... first, cosmetically, the V5 looks better. The V3 has better and much smoother threading than the V5.. there was even some metal shavings in the threads when I got the V5, and the threading is sharp.. The 510 connector sits higher than the top cap, so when I put my AGA-T2 on it, there is a noticable gap. I usually unscrewed the top cap on the V3 to mount flush tot he atomizer, but on the V5, I have to unscrew it even further leaving a 1/16th groove. The buttons seem a bit looser than the V3. Another noticable difference, is on my V3, there were two extention tubes, the V5 has the top part stuck to the head unit, and the other extention is for the 18650. Not a major thing, but I do clean the battery connections from time to time, and the V3 is easier. The V5 also has both RMS and mean data, whereas my V3 didn't have that option, however I hear it could just be my firmware version. Overall, I like the looks of the V5 so much better than a gunmetal colored screw looking version. I use the V3 at home, and the V5 anytime I go anywhere. :)

I ordered the V5 from Fasttech using the Chinapost/USPS option. order was placed on dec 21 2013 and arrived January 9'th.. which is pretty good considering it's from China. I ordered the V3 way back in July 15 2013, and it arrived August 19, about a month, but they also had a holiday during that time, so Delays were expected. It takes a bit of patience with FASTTECH, but I think they're overall a good company.

If you order it, do not order a battery to go with it. Do that in a separate shipment and order the batteries separately with something you wouldn't mind being delayed. Also, if you do order batteries with fasttech, make sure you get at least two of them and make sure you order it with something else so it doesn't look suspicious when it goes through an X-ray. They wrapped two batteries of mine in tin foil, and they passed. Can't guarantee that now.

good luck, and vape on.

I just got my V5 yesterday. As I came off of a 900maH Ego, I have nothing else to compare it too. I personally love this thing though. I didn't go through Fatstech for mine, cause I wanted it faster for one and I wanted my batteries and charger at the same time. I got mine here, which was the cheapest I found besides Fasttech. $70 for SS V5, Trustfire tr-001, 2 flattop Efest 2k 18650 batteries.

As posted mostly cosmetic changes. If buying make sure you get the Stainless Steel as the other finishes don't wear well and are fingerprint magnets. I own the V2 and V3. On my last upgrade I decided to go with the Sigelei Zmax and am very happy.
The bottom line is once you have batteries and charger a whole new world of inexpensive Mods opens up.

From my experience the v3 is garbage. I would have loved to use it for eternity but two in a row failed me. The first one the threads were shot within weeks and the second would only fire if I hit the button "just right". When returning my first one the shop literally had a box of at least 100 broken returned vamos and didnt even question giving me a new one. Said store has since stopped selling them due to being sick of dealing with returns and disappointed customers. Did it work? Yes. Did it work good? Yep. Did it work for long? NO. I know some people are lucky OR they report having no issues after only a short time of owning the product but id skip the risk and save up for something better.

Own the V2 and V3. V2 over a year and button is a little wonky. V3 for 6 months and all is fine. If buying a Vamo it will either:
- have issues almost immediately
- have issues within a couple of months
- work flawlessly for a long time
One thing I will caution is to baby, to the extreme, the 510 connector- very soft and fragile IMO.
My Vamos work great but overall, according to others experiences, quality was very hit and miss. When it first came out it was the only budget APV but now many other releases available that are of superior build quality at slightly higher cost.
