So I have a 2.5 ohm clearo attached (Dont ask the brand, its some cheap one from a smoke shop) and I attached it to my Vamo V5 (first time ever using Vamo). Anyhow, as soon as its attached, the clearo, without me pushing the fire button, starts producing thick dense white vapor from the mouth piece and makes a rattly sound. I quickly unscrewed it and noticed the Vamo was set to 15 Ω by default. Is this why the tank starting burning like crazy? It was warm to the touch after I unscrewed it as well, and smelled slightly burned.

I lowered the Ohms and Voltage on the Vamo and reattached the clearo, but either the liquid taste like complete .... or the thing is burnt out.

But back to the main idea in the large paragraph. What... the... hell... happened?

I'm sure you mean your Vamo was set to 15 Watts. Ω is the resistance of a coil, i.e what heats up inside the clearo.

You can't change the Ω of the Vamo, but you can use it to check the resistance of the coil in the topper.

Your clearo is likely burned. Depending on what it is, you may be able to get new coils/heads for it. And the juice in it may have picked up a burnt taste for being over-cooked. So you may have no choice but to dump it out, clean the clearo and start fresh. (Without replacing the head, it may not eliminate the burned taste. Typically, the silicone grommets and insulators can be burned as well, and that's usually not going to go away with cleaning, only replacing...)

Big question is why the Vamo fired on it's own. It shouldn't. Ever. If you've managed to leak significant quantities of juice down inside the Vamo, or it has some other internal fault, it might do that. In either case, it doesn't sound safe to use. Since it appears that it's new, can you take it back / return it?

I have heard that the V5 may have an "undocumented" mode where it can power things like LED flashlights (like the ZMax V5), but don't have one so don't know for certain. If that's the case, maybe it was in "constant output" mode? Any Vamo 5 users help out here?
