To get the top cap off, screw the battery tube onto where the top ring goes..

Got no clue on that one, worried that it was gonna fall apart at first but it just seems to work like that. I think the rattle mine makes kinda caught me off guard but so far no problems with the buttons. Are they sticking or anything on yours ???

Ok now how do you fix the wobbly buttons?

Hey folks, the V3/5 510 adapters that Vivid is selling are very nice and Stainless Steel. Strip this one and you got problems other than yer hardware LOL

Affirmative on the spring loaded pin but it was about as jammed as I imagine one can get. Lots of gentle working at it finally did the trick.
I killed an early version evicted I was gifted and ever since i'm a coward doing this sort of stuff.
Thanks again all of you !!!!

Hey guys, sorry if this has been requested elsewhere, but I couldn't find it. Is there a place in the US that sells replacement led windows? I replaced the pcb in my vamo, and unfortunately broke the small plastic window that fits in the body. I have found one place in the uk that sells them, but it's almost 20 bucks with shipping to the US.

I just got my V5 Friday from Fasttech. Rather quick shipping to Canada but I don't hold my breath, it;s hit and miss. When I bought mine there were 2 versions and prices on their website. All it said was different manufacturer and one was 4-5 dollars more, both stainless. I went for thew cheaper one.

What a pleasant surprise, spring loaded contact no more Vamo rubbers to crush. Impressive display you can chose on or off that when you press the trigger each time it will display volts or watts, load resistance and a power bar as to battery life. Not sure who the manufacturer is but there is a C E logo etched into the body and on the box.

I have been using my Vamo 5 now for a few weeks. Its working really well but I have a question.
As far as ohms, should I believe whats etched on the coil itself or what my vamo says?
I have a package of Kanger coils that say they are 2.2 ohms, however my vamo reads 2.5-3.3, the same coil will read 2.5 one hit, then 3.3 the next hit. None of my other coils do this, just this box.
All the other coils I have read what they should, give or take a .1.
Its not a big deal because its vapeing great but, did I just get a dud box of coils?
They do have 2.2 etched into them so they arent just packaged wrong.

It really depends. The kanger coils are wrapped with 32 gauge kanthal, which is very flexible, even when heat treated. When you screw the kanger onto the vamo, how many turns past when you feel contact with the coil until it's fully seated on the vamo? This will cause some flex in the coil, and possible grounding in spots, or even an extension of the exposed wire, increasing resistance. Beyond that, I have found differential in the vamo pcb's ability to read resistance as well, although the variation was not as large as you notice.

Something like this? (Although currently out of stock...)

EGO to EGO 510 Atomizer Adapter : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes

Or the 510 to ego/510 ones? Many online shops have them.

BUT - don't know if they're stainless or chromed brass.

OTOH, if you put one of those on your Vamo "forever" and IT gets stripped, cheap enough to replace, and your Vamo is unscathed.

Still haven't heard any definitive answer on whether the stainless V5 has stainless connections though...

One of my brand new Vamo had its 510 connector damaged in just 3 days while I was on an island.
Probably because of some electrochemical reaction.
The salt, the moisture, two different types of metal in contact, and the high current all contribute to it, and 'dissolve' the thread on the weak metal (Vamo's thread) very quickly.
