Northbrook, IL - WOW Vapor, and its parent company V
apor4Life, congratulate the Oxford Dictionary team for naming “Vape” their word of the year.
As further proof that
vaping has successfully infiltrated the mainstream of popular culture, The Oxford Dictionary today has named “Vape” their Word Of The Year. The official definition is “to inhale and exhale vapor produced by an electronic cigarette or similar device.”
"You are thirty times more likely to come across the word vape than you were two years ago, and usage has more than doubled in the past year," the organization explained on their blog.
The fine folks at Oxford track word usage in the media and pop culture, and after a huge spike in usage early in 2014, Oxford first put “
vaping” in the dictionary in August 2014 before awarding it the word of the year beating out Bae, Contactless and Budtender among others.
“As someone who has been
vaping for seven years, I want to say “what took you so long,” said WOW Vapor CEO Steve Milin. “But better late than never. Vaping is here to stay. And perhaps being named Word Of The Year will help show all those out there who feel it is their mission to misrepresent this product that it is here to stay. Vapor4Life is well known for their Vapor Zeus product. The company sells both rechargeable and disposable electronic cigarettes and their own Vapor4Life e-liquids, which are known for their taste and vapor volume.
