Newly reformed smoker in RVA reporting in. I was a PAD smoker for about 14 years, never able to quit more than 6 months since I started. My wife and I had a baby in January and I have been on and off since then- I really don't want to go back to cigarettes as I love holding my daughter!

I started with an njoy OneJoy disposable and bought a BLU Starter pack last week, already ready to move on to an eGo-T tankomizer (?) from MadVapes.com that should be in tomorrow. looking forward to trying a bunch of different ejuices.

On a separate note, should I be concerned that most posts I have been reading are from people that have only been vaping for a few months? It seems like there are a few people that have been here for a long time (couple years), but the majority of active posters at least appear to be 6 months or less, and I was wondering whether I am reading too much into it and thinking that a lot of people go back to analogs. I'm sure that once people find their perfect juice and set up, they probably aren't as active on here as the newbies who are still trying to find the killer app.

Either way, good to be here and looking forward to a smoke free future!

Welcome to the forum. Congratz on the kid and congratz on the switch over! With the better hardware it is alot easier, when I was on the Blu I was relapsing when I switched to the ego twist I haven't looked back since!

I am still a fairly new vaper as you can see by the picture down bottom, hit up chat if you want there are some people in there that have been vaping for quite a while. As far as the forum, the impression I got is once they get their setup/juice taken care of there really isn't much to talk about and they can only answer "whats the best juice?"/"what cig like battery should I get?" so many times. Think about it when you were a PAD smoker you didn't hop on a forum and go, "Wow just bought another pack of camels from the corner gas station, its amazing." Similar mentality it just becomes something you do. With being in the Richmond area you seem to be pretty lucky I believe there are some brick and mortar stores down by you. VaporSearchUSA shows me 3 in your city. It is also great to get some face time with people near you. What the forum is great for is when you are trying to figure out something, like how to debridge an atty or how to mix your own juice or need a review on the new Smoktech <randomletter>max.

What he said. A small percentage of vapors get really into having the latest and greatest gadgets. Most people find something that works for them and deal w/ their acceptable level of fiddle-factor, lol. Some of the rest of us are really into it, but end up spending too much money on toys if we hang around the site too much... So like now, I'm going to go do some work before I see a cheap toy I don't really need. :)

Welcome to ECF. Rest assured that once you find a PV/juice combination that satisfies you, cigarettes will become part of the past. Be prepared to try out a few different PV's and especially juices until you find your sweet spot. And if you encounter any problems, don't give up and feel free to ask questions here. Everybody vapes differently, so an item that works for one person may not work for another

There are plenty of posters here that have been smoke free for a year or longer. I think most of them spend most of their time on other forums and don't post here too much.

Good Luck...

All, thanks for the responses and welcomes! That's good to know with regards to the length of time for the users. Also, thanks for the link to VaporSearchUSA; I didn't even realize that we had a B&M store locally (looks like only one of the ones located in Richmond actually has a storefront), and I will be checking them out soon.
