I still stand with the smokers at work on Cig breaks as I don't think the boss is ready for it, although to be fair I haven't asked to vape inside yet. It's my cunning plan to convert the smokers, already got one on the path! Could be a bit strange once they are all converted, we will all be wondering why we are still standing outside, but I'm a long way off that yet.

I just got back from a trip & enjoyed being able to vape in the airport. Last trip I was almost too late for my flight because I went out to smoke & then got caught up in a long security line getting back in.
I didn't vape on the plane as it is being banned soon anyways andI didn't want to start a ruckus on a packed plane. I had layovers so each flight was less than 2 hrs. If desperate I would've gone to the restroom.
I still go out with the smokers at work - cameradie and a chance for fresh air. I'm so used to be an outcast, I still forget and go outside when visiting people. Everyone who sees me thinks it's the greatest thing. Especially when I tell them I quit analogs cold turkey a month ago after 30 plus years.

Here in PDX there are some bars/restaurants which welcome vapes and some which have enacted a blanket policy against it. On the one hand it kind of suxors to be bannerated for no real reason, but having been a server I can understand that management does not want to have to explain to pissy smokers why the person over there can enjoy nicotine with a cute little blue LED and no you can't fire up a smokestack.

I've vaped in Safeway, that's probably the most "public" place I've done it. But I'm not looking to draw attention to myself in any big way. I just keep cards on me and look for the opportunity to be a kind of good ambassador if I encounter someone who is innocently ignorant about what it means to be vaping. I certainly understand how it can confuse someone to see what looks like clouds coming out of them after they do what looks like traditional smoking. So I just keep it mellow and friendly and conflict free.

I sure disagree with it, but I'm usually found with the smokers. The TSA at Tampa International Airport (TIA) replied that they wanted me to smoke outside (grrr) and I did. I always ask first. As I find more places where vaping is accepted I'll vape there, but don't vape where I please out of courtesy to other people. It's not that others will want to light up a cigarette, it's just that people see a plume of "smoke" where they don't expect it. This is so new and I don't want to give people a bad first impression. Besides, hanging with the smokers gives me a chance to hand out more V4L cards. Just my :2c:

I vaped some wowboy menthol in front of a non-smoker friend yesterday at Autorama and he said, "Hey, that smells pretty good." He was not prepared to have that reaction at all! :)

It was great vaping at the Autorama yesterday. No one had a negative reaction, and in fact I got some pretty positive feedback and questions. Once I explained what I was doing, people didn't seem to care at all. We got to see some classic cars and get our nic fix without running outside, freezing tail, then waiting 10 minutes in line again. I see the way I used to live as a smoker, and it seems so silly now...

Hey Duderino,
I'm from Riverview Michigan and I love the Auto Show and Autorama. I vape everywhere I feel I can without causing a rucus. I'm not going to be an outcast anymore. We lost our right to smoke (eventhough it was bad for us) it was our right. We didn't fight for that right. Vaping is not wrong or bad for anyone and I won't give it up because sombody doesn't like what I legally do.

Maxwell, I had a similar experience on saturday. We went to two bars... the first one was almost empty and pretty quiet, so I got to actually talk to a few people about vaping. The second bar was LOUD and very crowded, so I couldn't educate anyone about vaping, but I got a lots of surprised and (IMHO) jealous looks. No one said a negative thing to me about vaping at either bar. The bartenders, waitresses, or patrons didn't seem to mind. I honestly think the lack of nasty smoke smell goes a long way toward people's indifference.

Sal, nice to meet a fellow Michiganian! I missed the Auto Show this year, but the 'Rama was great once again. I know next to nothing about cars, but damn they're nice to look at! I don't want to cause any trouble either, but the more I vape in public the more I'm finding out that people are pretty accepting of it.

we were at Ace Hardware the other day, while checking out i noticed they had the little cheater reading glasses and grabbed a pair. (The case is the perfect size for 2 XL e-cigs) The next thing i know, i'm doing a demo, advising a marlboro light smoker what to buy, etc. She was excited to say the least. i try to tell them to signup for the V4L emails because the coupon codes are awesome. But i need to remember to carry the cards on me.
