At first I was worried about making it through security with all my chargers , batteries , cartos , attys , liquids , etc. Got through no problem after informing the X-ray tech that it was e cig supplies. While on the plane I got away with using my blu with it held stealthy in hand to cover the blu light. No problems as I held in the vapor long enough to dissapate in my lungs. Also was calling while walking through the airport with little stealth required.. only a week off analogs and I think this is that moment where I am certain vaping is the way to go !!!

Congratulation on one week, that is awesome. You'll have a year before you know it. But I follow smokers rules. This subject comes up often here and there's lots of boasting about where people have vaped. Would you want a person somehow stealth smoking next to you on a plane, if that were possible? Vapor isn't smoke to us. To the person sitting next to you, it is.
People see stealth vapors I'm sure and it doesn't endear them to our cause which is at a critical juncture right now. But nobody can tell others how to live their life but I think we'll pay in the end for 'vaping everywhere.

Congratulations on being a week free! Amazing isn't it? Good luck on your journey.

So far I've pretty much followed smoking rules, mostly because I think there's a lot of misinformation out there and don't want to make a scene or cause a negative attitude toward vapers. I'll ask if vaping is permitted and abide by their wishes after an explanation of what vaping is about. There is always the option of vaping in a restroom or some out of the way place. There are juices that smell awful that might be objectionable to other people and I'd rather leave a positive impression of vaping. (hubby had a honey flue that was AWFUL!) I never hesitate to vape outdoors or in public places and have had people ask about it. It's a good opportunity to educate them and also gets people used to seeing people vaping so they're not freaked out about it. Vaping is still pretty new so it's going to take awhile to get past the misinformation out there. We'll get there, but I believe it will happen faster with a positive, cooperative attitude and avoid negative confrontations. Generally vapers are happy people, finally free of the addiction of inhaling burning tobacco.

Respectfully, I believe smoking and vaping comparisons are apples and oranges, oxygen. Vapor is not smoke at all. It is not the product of combustion. Where there smoke, there is fire. Where there is no fire, there is not smoke.

I do get your point, and maybe he went a bit too far, but you have to love the enthusiasm of the new vapers. I have vaped in places quietly where is was not specifically prohibited, but I knew was most likely not permitted. Your point that militant vaping hurts our cause is a fair one. I do not wholly agree or disagree with it, but it certainly has its merits.

Get caught once and they would probably just tell you to put it up. If you are belligerent about it, you will make TV news.

The two hardest non-smoking flights I've had were Atlanta to LA and Atlanta to Las Vegas. Boy, was I glad to get there. I was a smoker then. I wouldn't try vaping on a plane these days. Too many people will loudly complain about cologne and the way your vapor smells. Yes, some people can detect it. People sensed it and didn't knwo what it was. You were just lucky that you got by unchallenged.

I've read about influential people in this industry that stealth vape everywhere and I was shocked to be honest. On a long flight I would use Snus. But another reason I don't vape anywhere is I don't want to be 'owned' by vaping. I want to know I can wait in my doctors waiting room for 15 minutes without needing to vape. And I vape 5 - 7 ml a day.
It's only my choice and I'm certainly not telling anyone else how to live their lives, that's what the government is for. :(
Busardo brought this up about being in a restaurant and licorice vapor can be floating to someones table who are spending a lot of money for a nice night out. Some of this is just good manners.
But I remember the old days of the do not smoke sign going off in the plane. I don't see how non-smokers could stand it.

I was just trying to say that vapor is vapor to us but someone without a clue sees it as smoke.

number 2 is vapor.? We have to respect others in tight quarters, If they dont want to be around the vapor, we have to put it away. If we want to keep our PV we need to educate and help others understand but thats not going to happen if they have a big negative additude going in to it. There is already enough of that.

I have gotten the 2 headed monster look from people seeing my PV, spinner with carto-tank. I have a feeling I know what they are thinking its a drug device of some kind. So I educate where I can, and keep walking where I cant. I can see looks of "hum wonder what that is" and "omg that person is doing drugs over there". From an outsider that has never smoked vapor and smoke would look the same. To an ex smoker they might not besure. When they dont smell smoke tho they should realize its not smoke.

When im out in public I vape a pleasent smell, like razberry cheese danish. I smelled someone vaping maple in walmart the other night, didnt ever see them tho. nobody would ever known really, it smelled nice and blended with the area.

So does this count as being in the Vaping a Mile High Club?

mmm theres a movie for us all to see Vapes On A Plane :vapor:

It would have to be A LOT better than the original to keep my attention for more than 15 minutes.

And I'm guessing #2 is vapor. #1 has some of those really thin strings of smoke that look like they came straight off the end of a cigarette.

I have no problems in my Gulfstream G650. My pilots George and David know about my vaping and have no problem with it.

can i have your plane???

honestly i am guilty of vaping on a plane... i did it on a few flights but was VERY stealthy about it and held it in almost to the point of losing consciousness just to be sure! i dont recommend it but if you HAVE to, be curtious to those around you.

i think stealth vaping is the only way to go in the airport... i was at the bar in ORD the other day, and some bro was puffing away while sitting at one of the tables... made me really want to bust out my vape and join the party, but the looks on other patrons faces said it all... they just didnt know how to react and the staff seemed to be annoyed that they had to constantly explain to other customers that he wasnt smoking and yadda yadda

keep it in the sleeve of your shirt and hold the inhale long enough to ghost the vapor... then you can pull it off anywhere... or just sack up in a stall in the bathroom and puff away :/
