A story about Willie Nelson... Yeah, he used to live down the road from me, here in Co. Yep, him and his family, his kids went to the public schools here that I worked for, right here in Evergreen. His wife used to fly around these mountain roads in her Farrari and block the front entrance to Safeway, so she could just run in and such. It's not like you could just go up to his house and visit, I mean he had a big gated horse ranch. Stories of him visiting the little bear saloon with Kris Kristopferson and Walen Jennings and such and he opened up a live music and dance night club called the cactus rose right on the end of the road where I lived. Then it all ended, divorce, tax evasion and his home suddenly burned down and of course the night club disapeared and he moved back to Texas! True story, it all was happening between 1983 and '85, right here in Evergreen, CO.
