so, i just finally got an ecig in the mail today that i feel could work for me. i just threw away the last of my analog cigs, lighters, and ashtrays, and i feel confident that tomorrow could be day one. while reading posts on here and reading stuff on the site, i get all inspired to quit, but i know that as soon as i get to work tomorrow around the chain smokers, it's gonna get tough. i know the site in itself is sort of a "support group" (hope that doesn't sound cheesy), but is there a specific part of the site for those times when you just finished a meal, or had a stressful day, or had a few beers, and just really feel the need for a real smoke? just wondering. thanks everyone for your help!

Just vape your brains out when you feel like a ciggy. If your nic level is high enough it will make it easier. Remember there are other things in cigarettes that you are addicted to that you are not getting from vaping. If you can get past the first couple of days it will get easier.

Someone is always here to help.

And if you give in and have a cigarette don't beat yourself up. Think of the ones not smoked.

Welcome, and the longer you vape the less you will be tempted. I passed the "smokers alley" ash
tray outside work today and couldn't believe the bad smell!!! If you slip with a few analogs,
oh well, just keep vaping and the craving gets less and less.

The downside, you'll crave vaping more and more.
I can't put down the expresso, anise, cinnamon buns.......:vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor:

Welcome to ECF, good to have you. Congratz on your new purchase, and enjoy the journey. I thought it was gonna be tough to quit since my wife smokes and I knew I was going to be around it, but it's been a lot easier than I thought it would. Now to get her off the smokes, but she isn't ready to commit just yet. I think she wants to make sure it works for me before giving it a go. Good luck to you, and best wishes.

Think of the ones not smoked.

I know. Just a couple weeks for me . . . let's see . . . two Thursdays ago . . . this is my 18th day, times 15 . . . 270 cigarettes. They add up fast.

My wife is a little sad that she still smokes, but I'm all about her cutting back to half of what she smoked! Now that I did the math, I can tell her she's had 135 cigarettes less than when we started vaping. That's freaking great!!!!!!!

EDIT: Actually, it's even more because I was just going by the last day I had a cigarette. WooHoo!

My wife and I got our PV's at the same time. I stopped smoking on the first day (although I relapsed a couple of times when I had initial gear failures) but my wife combines both vaping and smoking, which is fine.

Interestingly, today my wife had to go to hospital for a week (nothing too serious) and the official position of the hospital is that smoking is tolerated in designated areas but vaping is encouraged!!!!

I think this is an awesome step forward given that the federal government has banned the sale of juice containing nicotine!!!
