I know this topic comes up from time to time, it's always interesting to hear what folks are seeing out there in the world.

As usual I almost never see other vapers here in the local Boston area but this week I was out in Las Vegas for a convention and was amazed by the number of people I saw vaping. Don't get me wrong, I saw more smokers than I've seen in years too but I saw more people vaping than anywhere I've been since I started myself. Had lots of smokers come over and ask me about it too which was great.

Maybe it was just location, maybe it really is starting to catch on but either way I was happy to see it.

Its catching on everywhere. My small town got a vape shop last fall and theres getting to be a car or 2 in the lot at times now when I drive by. I dont know anyone that vapes in my area other than my brother. But its catching Im anxious to go to the 4th of july in town just to see how many vapors I can find there has to be more lol. Would be so nice to find some people interested in having vape meets or a support group in my area. But til then ECF is working great for me.

In my short time vaping I have only noticed about 4 people vaping outside of the local store. The story always has 3 or more customers when I stop in, so I know there are others out here, I just don't see them out in the public.
Funny enough, the wife and I live in a rural area and took the kids to the Mud Bog today. You should have seen the looks we were getting...

There are very few smokers left where I live, and I have yet to see anyone vape in my part of town. (Aside from my family members) However, I recently went to a meeting in TN, and there were lots of smokers and vapers out in the smoking area between lectures. Probably 1 vaper to every 2 smokers. The smokers, I must say, were very considerate about not blowing smoke all over us, and the vapers kind of kept out of the way, likewise. It was really nice that everyone was so considerate - but then, I always find THE nicest people in TN.

Recently, the hubby and I attended a wedding, and went out during the reception for a vape. There were only a few smokers outside, but they made room for us. And one woman came over and asked me about what I was using. We had a nice long chat about vaping. She said all the gear confused her, but she really wanted advice so she could give it a try. I told her I was still a little befuddled about it too, but told her where my fave B&M is, and they would walk her through the process. I said, "There's a lot to learn, but you don't need to know it all to start. Just go with whatever makes sense to you. You'll learn as you go, and there is no wrong choice, and no best choice. You'll probably try a few different kinds before you settle in, and it may seem like you're spending a lot of money on stuff that may not work. But always think how much you spent smoking. No matter how much vape gear you buy, you probably will still spend less."

Heh, my first introduction was one of my fellow students pulling out what I now know was a G6 during a study group in the library. I blinked a couple of times and it was no big deal. Hey, she was hot and it was a great excuse. Sue me.

Then a couple have brought them into the lab, one guy with what I would now guess is a mech and like one or two others wandering around. Generally though, since they don't go out with the smokers, they're a lot harder to find. I think vapers in the wild are a lot easier to spot when they're in places you expect people to be smoking. When they're just minding their own business, they don't really stick out.

Nice, those are all good stories.

Now the follow on question: what were those you saw vaping on? The reason I ask it that I was vaping next to a smoker who asked me how I liked vaping and if I used to smoked, I gave them a very brief run down of how I used to smoke two packs a day and switched to vaping and love it. The smoker in turn told me they have been trying to vape more to get off of cigs and then they pulled their stick battery with CD4 topper out of their pocket and gave me that sort of "meh" look and I knew exactly what the problem was. When I asked what juice they vaped they told me it was a store mixed juice that was "ok".

I'm no vaping snob so please don't take this statement out of hand but dang do I wish the super cheap CE4 starter packs would just go away. If people would spend an extra $10 to get even something like a Kanger Evod starter set they would be soooooo much happier from the get to and have a much better chance of sticking with it.

i live in baltimore. i don't see THAT many vapers but I've seen a few. it always gets me so excited lol. i always pull out my mod and start vaping hoping we strike up a conversation. one of my coworkers has a basic ego kit and always asks me questions about my mech. i usually see basic ego and ce4 users but i have seen a guy with a VTR and a couple people with mech mods

I've mostly seen pen-styles of some type with clearos (never close enough to really see exactly what). A guy who dates a coworker of mine uses a V2, and when we talked he got all excited. I have a VV ego, 2 Innokin VV's, and a hybrid, and last I spoke with him we was going to upgrade to a VV ego of some kind. He's been vaping longer than I have and had been happy with his V2's until he tried my VV V3.0.

I have seen someone with a mech mod but that was only once. Another guy had what I think was a mech in 350 mode but he was all hunkered down while taking a drag, and his device was completely concealed so I have no idea (in fact, it may not have even been nic he was vaping!).

Another dog walker was getting to the pond as we were leaving.
We started chatting and he took a vape off his rechargeable Blu.
I took a hit off my KFL/Provari and asked how he likes his vape.
He said his juice (B&M Rasberry/turd) was kinda gross but it was better than smoking.
He said he wanted to upgrade so I walked him through it.
He's thrilled with his new C-twists, Evods & my DIY :)
Go team.
