vapers in washington

just wanted to see if there are any vapers up the redmond/king county area that would like to discuss about vaping... i'm finally starting to post on this forum after trolling for a long time. been vaping for over 6 months and have a ridiculous amount of PV related crap. finally settled down on what works and what doesn't so i was thinking i could help out any new members around here and show them some of my gear.

i've converted 3 people so far with riva/egos and 510s and like to educate others. i play on a pool league at a bar, so pretty much everyone smokes. a good chunk of them have tried going the ecig route, but don't like/know about the online options so they stop using them...

there's a lot of smoke shops here that are carrying really expensive rebranded crap and of course most people i know that have bought them think its a novelty and stop using them. would like to put a stop to that

P.S. if you have not heard the stupid King County Board of Health decided it would be fun to ban ecigs indoors and throw us out with the rest of the smokers. total B.S., however i still vape at my desk and at the bar... the waitresses kindly told me they knew about the ban and then said vape away cause they don't give a s@#$. so if there are any places that you frequent, i would talk to the staff and see if they are cool with it...

Welcome, ndnshift! I don't often get down that way anymore, but it sure is nice seeing more Washingtonians on the forum. We're thankfully unaffected by King County's silly rules...but we are watching as it does set a very ugly and scary precedent. Our area seems to be pretty vape friendly, so hopefully this kind of jack-a$$ery won't occur up here or be enforced. In the meantime....Welcome to the ECF! Holler if you need anything!

Puyallup here, I am new to vaping and waiting....for my first eGo to arrive. Welcome to Washington to the new arrivals and others know when I say, WA is a nanny state trying very hard to protect us from our selves.

I would like to get together with others in this area to explore this hobby, sounds like a good idea.

Auburn is in both King and Pierce county. As of right now, I'm only aware of e-cig bans in King (the King Couty Board of Health voted to add e-cigs to the smoking ban back in December). You should figure out where in Auburn you are, whether you're on the King side or Pierce side, as that will affect where you can vape in public.

Unfortunately, King County tends to be a test bed for state-wide initiatives. The state-wide smoking ban came from King, and being the most populous county (King includes all of Seattle-proper) it holds undue sway in the state legislature. I've not yet heard of a planned state-wide extension of the smoking ban to cover e-cigs, but it wouldn't hurt to contact your representative to voice your support against it because it's only a matter of time before our nanny state reps introduce an amendment.

On the other hand, WA is an initiative-run state. The statewide smoking ban was presented as a ballot initiative and was passed by the people, not the legislature, and could technically be removed by the people. Given that most controversial subjects go through initiatives (income tax, for example), I suspect a statewide extension of the smoking ban to include e-cigs will probably be an initiative on the ballot either this year or next. If/when that happens, we'll need to organize vapers to get the word out. In the meantime, if you're in King County you can contact the Board of Health and tell them what kind of idiots they are.

just found out that Pierce County has the vapeban coming up for a vote on June 1
(which just happens to be 2 days before the tacoma vapemeet)

and am not sure what rock i have been living under but there is a local vape store in Lakewood that is a reseller of Juicy Vapor liquid

I'm from Seattle. I see a LOT of e-cigs in this area, they're getting to be pretty popular, it's great. Maybe someday we can take on the nanny-state that king county has become and get the ban overturned, that would be nice.

Anyone know of a brick and mortar store in the seattle area that sells fluid?

I'm up in S. Everett but work downtown in the intl district and just ordered my first e-cig. I got a 510 kit with a few blank cartridges and some e-juice. We just had our firstborn 2wks ago so I am looking to put an end to analogs....
