I think there was a thread about this somewhere a few weeks ago but I can't find it now and anyway, I think we need one for our sophisticated British palate (yeah, like our sophisticated Benny Hill humour, lol).
Anyway. I love to vape & I love to drink. In the old days, a tasty imported Lucky Strike (or maybe a Camel) would go with just about anything. At the end of the night, maybe I'd slide over to a nice Cuban cigar (or a Dutch one if I was feeling skint) but generally, a good ... went with anything.
These days it's all so much more complicated! Certain vapes work great with drink 'A' but fail abysmally with drink 'B' so I thought it might be interesting (or at least not totally boring) for us to share our favourite drink/vape combinations....
First up for me is coffee. It's usually the second thing I drink in a day (the first is grapefruit juice but I'm sure nothing goes with that). A nice (Janty) cappuccino works quite well but I've found that my fave is e-cigs 'Like Smoke' blended 2:1 with JC vanilla ice cream and then cut 50:50 with glycerin. It's a heavenly combination!
Next up is beer. With my first beer of the evening, any good tobacco juice tends to work well but after 2 or 3 beers, all juices lose all flavour and all throat hit except for TW camel juice. TW camel tastes the same after one beer as it does after 12 beers so has become my 'going out juice'. I guess it's a bit like eating oranges while at sea (they taste the same going down as they do coming back up). As an added bonus, every time any of my friends try my camel-loaded Titan, they immediately cough, turn green and run away so I never have to share
At the end of the night, I'll often move onto a nice, peaty whisky (Laphroaig, Bowmore etc). With my first one, I really enjoy my e-gar filled with e-cigs 'Roast Smoke' or 'French Pipe' but with the second (or third or fourth....), I need to bring out the e-pipe. I've currently got a blend of Roast Smoke, Vanilla, Licquorice and Chocolate that is absolutely bloody delicious in the pipe. Unfortunatley, I made the mix after a night of beer & whisky so I can't actuially remember exactly what I put in it
My big quandry is with wine. When I smoked, cigs were fine with wine (hey, that rhymes!) but I'm really struggling for a vape to go with the grape (ok, I'll stop now). Dry, analogue type flavours (mlb, camel, 555 etc) really lose their punch when put up against a nice Sancerre. Fruit flavours totally overwhelm anything more sophistcated than a cheap, supermarket prosecco and then when you move into the world of red wine, you get vape vs. tannin and there is just no contest - I've still not found a vape that I can even taste after 2 or 3 bottles of red wine, let alone enjoy....
So, UK vapers, what are your favourite vape/drink combinations? Has anyone found a juice that works with white wine? Has anyone found a juice they can even taste after red wine? Has anyone found a better match to beer than camel?
