I visited my nearby smoke shop looking for a PV. After the counter guy promised how great their product was, stating how "cheap it is compared to others", I knew I needed to do more research. I couldn't justify the price, knowing it was "cheap".

I got lucky. I found found this forum and a GREAT local resource. I learned what I could on the forum, decided on a kit (know its a 510 ego LR carto's, beyond that, I haven't figured out), and googled.

I live in Wichita, KS. I found a shop in town that had exactly what I wanted, at an amazing price. Juices, vaps, and accessories. Even a few mod parts. I'm not sure if I can mention the website, but if you live in the area (he can't or doesn't ship), google will guide you.

So, 3 days later, analog smoking is 1/3 of pre-vap. My non-smoking wife commented how good my Carmel Apple smelled in the car when going to dinner tonight. I don't recall cigarettes making her smile, ever. I'm enjoying it too.

Lastly, couple questions to throw out.
Is it just me or do very sweet (fruity) juices dry your mouth horribly? Is there anything besides chugging more water that helps? I drink over 80oz a day regularly but now its even more. Also, any salty or hardy juice? I saw pizza juice that sounded along the right lines. I haven't seen steak and potatoes or cheeseburger or anything.

Thanks for reading post #1. Future posts will be shorter, maybe.

Congrats on finding a decent kit locally. Most of the B&M stores in my area are pirates.

PG and VG are humectants(sp?) They dry out mucous membranes. PG moreso than VG. It really doesn't have anything to do with the sweetness, although that might make you more sensitive to it. There's not a lot you can do about it except sip water and maybe up the VG content.

Yes there are salty, hardy juices. They go under the heading of "Savory". There's bacon, roast chicken, pizza, even crab. Bluemist has the crab. I'm warning you, it's pretty rank. As for the others, I don't recall where I saw them. You're going to have to look around, but they're definitely out there.

Watch out for the savory...A story for you, I love bacon, I really love bacon. Who doesn't? If you don't you're wrong and all that. You will not get bacon in a bacon vape. A bacon vape will make you wish you were never born, it will make you sad. Don't mess with it, fry up some thick cut, peppered or maple if ya dig it that way, do not ever mess with bacon vape. You won't get it out of your atty and you may just punch a kitten. Ok, that wasn't a story but the point remains, stay away from bacon vape, homey.

I DIY, so I may be biased. I buy pre-mixed when I can get it really cheap or if it's so good I can't dream of matching it. The last pre-made I got was $0.99 for 10ml. That's about what it costs me to make my own, so I was up for it. Besides the fact that it's fun to do, you might want to hold off. You've got enough to learn and if you're o.k. with the prices on the market, it's probably not worth getting into at this point. DIY takes some initial investment, but I can make juice for a dime a ml that would cost me at least 5X as much if I bought it. I enjoy doing it and the flexibility it gives me in what I vape. I vape about 4-5ml a day and If I can save a buck or two a day, it's all the better. The savings pays for vaping gadgets.

Actually, the bacon is really good. If you like bacon, that is. I vape it the morning for breakfast, along with waffles and coffee vapes. I've never tried pizza.

Oh nooooo... You must've gotten some bad bacon vape, probably from a factory farm and loaded with salmonella. I make my own. It's hickory smoked. Yummm... It does linger, so I don't use it in an atty. I keep a special bacon clearomizer just for the pure, clean taste of hickory smoked BACON!!

Hi & Welcome to ECF! Regarding the DIY thing, I got into it probably a bit sooner than I should have and often wish I'd tried more pre-mixed flavors to get some better ideas about what to shoot for. However with me it may not make much difference; can't smell due to nerve damage, so I can vape garbage so vile it would turn most folks shades of purple. Anyway IMO the main thing is to keep vaping fun. Part of that for me is taking these learning curves at comfortable speeds when possible. As it is I'll have to take a few of them over again as soon as finances permit, because sometimes I didn't follow my own advice.

Best wishes & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

If you vape ANYTHING, you will get a dry throat unless you drink lots of water. I've found that sucking on a mint works too. The reason for this is because when you vape, you are putting warm steam in your mouth....that's just naturally going to dry your mouth out.
I got into DIY juice really early also and I've never looked back! Welcome to ECF and Happy Vaping!
