I was diagnosed with the beginning stages of COPD (emphysema) about 10 years ago (after smoking 1 - 1 1/2 packs a day for 34 years by that time). I absolutely do NOT think that vaping causes COPD in any form! In fact, since I had my last smoke on Jan. 14, 2014 and have been 100% vaping only since then...my breathing is better than it's been in many years!
My last check-up was March 13th, and my doctor said my lungs "sound clear" now when taking deep breaths in and out for him as he listened with his stethoscope. There are no sounds to indicate any difficulty in my breathing. Has the damage I already did to my lungs disappeared? No, COPD doesn't go away, but it has NOT progressed at all, and my airways are most definitely "clearer".
By the way, COPD is the term that covers chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.
