It was more the fact that the sand was heated and inhaled directly that I found concerning. But even so you are likely correct that it must be inhaled for extended periods of time.
Sand is very stable substance. It's easier to melt stainless steel (means mod) than sand.

While silica dust may be inhaled, the sand/silica grain you find on a beach is way too big to be inhaled all the way into your lungs. Me, I'd worry more about the risks of long term sun exposure than the sand you're laying on (besides, that's what a beach towel is for).

As for a tank getting sand in it, I'd be concerned about it working its way into a pres fit base and/or damaging o rings, and/or plugging up the air hole if you use factory coils (most RTAs shouldn't clog up unless maybe a mtl RTA with a really narrow air hole).

the sand on a beach is too big to be an issue... unless you are having ... ;)

a sandwich?

I'd be more worried about a shark launching itself out of your drip tip and biting your lip. Hey, let's not be too quick to rule it out....

Me? At the beach I always keep my eyes open for land sharks. Those things can sneak up on you when you least expect it.

I swore off Florida as a youth. We visited the Everglades *for fun*. I did not find it FUN. I believe you about the beaches, but I'm afraid they are.... off limits for me. No place that people take ALLIGATORS for granted. Nope. Also, I'd be dead of whatever mosquito borne illness they have down there. To not get bit, I'd probably need an anti-microbial/anti-bug fabric with which to make a giant burka. That's just not my thing. But, thank you for living in Florida for me.... I understand someone has to :)

Lmao.

There are more annual deaths by kitchen appliances than alligators.

Alligators aren't the same as crocodiles on the discovery channel.
They are quite docile and don't usually bother people unless molested.

I lived in Florida for a few decades.
Right on da beach.

I loved it.

What does an alligator do if said person near it runs away screaming and waving their hands in the air, BN? Because that's what would be happening. At once.

Alligators may be more likely to ignore you, fine, but they'd still keep me up at night. Maybe parts of Fl are fantastic, and if we ever get our RV for summers, I'll likely check it out, LOL. NOT the everglades though....

I know last night, Bunnykiller, you weren't practicing in my yard, my bunnies are fine! And they're the only cute thing around here, honestly, so stay FAR from my bunnies. :)

Feel free to come tickle a rattlesnake or seven, as many scorpions as you can find (blacklight, but stay away from the tiny green ones they're actually rather venomous) and the occasional brown recluse. I killed mine, but I'm sure there are plenty more. PLENTY of spiders of various proportions, some rather horrifying.

No need to lay down and splash, to attract the wildlife actually. They like to stalkup with me unprepared. If you're going to depestify our backard there will be no need for water. If you find and kill my packrat, I will pay you $100. Though I still think he's adorable with his gnawing at my house, at night. :)

Really though, Alligators? They make me think I've been transported to the dinosaur age. Bleaugh.

It's almost like an Easter egg hunt.... except instead of eggs, we're hunting for reasons to worry.

Forget sand. I just found a new thing to worry about. I took the dogs for a walk and sprayed my arms with mosquito spray. Sprayed the palms of my hands then rubbed it on my face. By the time I got back my vape tasted like soap. Finally figured out it was skeeter spray which had got on my lips and drip tip. That stuff is designed to kill skeeters so who knows what it will do to people, especially wrinkly old geezers.

They should have warning labels on the spray and on vaping gear.

I washed my hands and face and washed my mouth out. And the drip tip. But I can still taste it on my lips.

Do you think I'm going to be OK? Will I have to quit vaping? Will my survivors be able to sue anybody?

I bet there are more small pets in the backyard who die from alligators than pets using kitchen appliances.

When I lived in Florida, we would toss the occasional kebob of Gator nuggets on the grill.
More gators are eaten by people in FL than vice versa..by a huge margin.
