I'm not a doctor, and most reputable doctors wouldn't diagnose you over the Internet without at least a full medical history, but, what MG level are you vaping, and how much do you vape? Nicotine is a stimulant, and some folks switch to a lower MG level (or zero nic) in the evenings to minimize the stimulant effect.

Edited to add:

If it's something that is an ongoing issue, please seek real medical advice.

I found some of I dunno ingredients in my DIY grape and cola juices give me insomnia so I can't or try not to vape them too much in the evening, there is no added sweeteners in them so its not a sugar buzz. Also some of my mint juices also, not menthol but mint. Yet I can power vape my tobacco blends right up to bed time and no problems. Nicotine is a stimulant will keep you up to a point but the effect is no where near as predominate as my grape and cola blends. I don't vape many other flavors so I can't comment on other flavored flavorings

YES!

and No.

Not smoking changes your sleeping for the better in most cases (less sleep required) but conversely using Nicotine will stimulate you when you don't want it to.

So, the question is what are you trying to achieve? If you are sleeping too little and feel tired you need to avoid Nicotine in the same way people avoid other stimulants into the late afternoon/ early evening.

If you don't actually need the sleep (getting older etc, having a more healthy respiratory system) then celebrate that and plan accordingly.

Vaping nicotine can easily cause insomnia but so did/does smoking - only when people smoke they are gradually making themselves more and more unwell therefore needing more sleep.

It sounds like a catch 22 but it isn't. I know so many people who have had to work on this. If I forget to use low Nicotine in the evening I pay the price every time. It's as predictable as you can get.

You know what to do. :)

Thanks everyone!

I am a former smoker, so my body is used to Nicotine. I vape a 6mg juice at 20-30w. I'm in my 40s. I do remember not sleeping well after a night of heaving smoking.

Unlike when I smoked cigarettes, I have been vaping in my car. At a doc appt (vaped along the way to office) my bp & heart rate were higher than normal. Doc decided to check my bp at the end of my appt...both bp & hr were back to normal. I've been checking my bp and it IS higher than normal a few minutes to an hour after vaping. BP goes back down after not vaping for an hour or so. I go back next week for an appt solely to check bp not having vaped the day of.

I started vaping to stop smoking. Looks like I need to start weening down the nic level and stop for good!

Thanks for your input.

Yes, drop down to 3mg if you are vaping at 20-30w.

Welcome and glad you joined. Weening down and stopping will save you money in the long run too.
