It's REALLY sore... How to combat this? I may be vaping too hard or often or something because I know I keep flooding the ego-c? What to do? What am I doing wrong? I just know my throat kept waking me up last night with it hurting. The juice we are using is 100% PG from Vapers Corner.

My throat didn't start hurting this bad until last night but it started a day or 2 before, feeling dry and scratchy. I've been vaping for over 2 weeks, I thought I wasn't going to get that since I had only gotten dry throat but not an actual sore throat until yesterday. We ordered 50/50 juice and I HOPE that helps!! I gargled salt water this morning and I am sucking on ice too because I can't stand water... it STILL hurts!!
Your not doing anything wrong. your body still getting rid of the nasties from the cigarettes. Just keep vaping and popping throat lozengers :D

Flooding on the ego c don't hit it so hard take longer softer drags. If ur cheaks suck in ur hitting it 2 hard.... the sore throat part its gonna happen. Mine lasted bout 3 day's or so ur body's just gotta get used 2 it. Welcome 2 vaping :) . Im sure someone will chime in soon with the scientific reason y it happens.

100 pg can be rough especially if you getting it in your mouth i know my throat while not sore was notted up pretty bad till I tried something a little lighter on the pg, as a test after about 2 months I went and tried it again, wham same thing

there was a time i was getting just the tiniest mist off my carts when I started that tore my throat up also.

go to walgreens and ask for "fishermans friend" cough drops. they will numb you right up, dont taste like halls candy for sure but wow they work.

Sorry for your discomfort!

1) You could have a normal "sore throat" (Infection)
2) If it is the e-cig... I'd dump the eGo-C atomizer for something else.
3) The addition of VG MAY help, may not. Cutting nic will help too.
4) Change flavors if you're sensitive to the ingredients. Also could be PG/VG/flavor sensitivity but you'd usually have that in mouth/tongue too.

Bad atomization makes for harsh juice and irritation. Also try cleaning the atty if you can (IDK much about eGo C types)

OK :) I am drinking coffee right now because it does seem to soothe it better than ice or tea does. Unfortunatly we are stuck with the PG until our order comes from Vape Dudes, I HOPE the 50/50 mix helps. If it doesn't I will order a more of a vg mix but not from them because I can't wait 2-3 weeks for the stuff again. Maybe when I know exactly what I need I can order it ahead of time and the time wait won't be a big deal but until I get the right mix I don't really have the luxury of waiting. BUT with that said.... I am anxious to see if their juice is as good as I've been led to believe. I just vaped out of a dual coil cart on the ego-c and while the taste was much better it felt like someone took a torch to my throat.

I am trying not to hit it hard but it seems like I don't get enough if I don't. Then I wipe up my mess and try again. I take it slow then forget again the next time.

I think that if you're actually managing "plumes of vapor" while using 100% PG, you're definitely doing it wrong. If you're not seeing much visually, then it shouldn't be a problem. With an all PG mix, you shouldn't see much of anything but if you manage to do it anyway, you're probably sucking the life out of your atty, breathing in something in the neighborhood of pure fire and bugging the hell out of your throat. Anyway, take a look at what's coming back out of your mouth and it will tell you. You didn't say anything about vapor production so this was just a shot in the dark.....

yeah we have some vapor production but nothing like we see in the video's.

That's good then (and not the primary cause of your distress). The clouds you see in the videos shouldn't happen with the percentages you use. You should only see wisps ;-)

Still, I'd imagine that a higher VG might take the edge off the rawness in your throat.

The vapor actually looks similiar to the smoke of a cig but less and I'll be glad when the juice gets here and HOPE it helps!!

The reason I ask is that, the first few days I was vaping I actually had my setup all wrong and was burning my juice pretty consistently. I was, in fact, smoking...smoking burning juice. I was amazed at the time how the vapor acted "just like" smoke. Well, it acted that way because it WAS smoke (at least partially). Once I noodled out what I was doing wrong, not only did the juice taste a whole lot better, but the vapor acted like vapor instead of smoke.

It sounds like you are not hydrating well enough. Caffeine dehydrates when taken in large amounts. Ever notice how often you have to pee after drinking a couple of cups of coffee? If you don't like water pop a couple of lemon slices in your glass. Lemon and honey are great sore throat soothers and will flavor the water.

People will use higher PG to get the throat hit. Keep practicing smoother vaping techniques. Eventually it will become second nature and you wont have to think about it anymore.

I hope this clears up for you!

Not to be a nit pick, but I have always used 100% PG, and have for over 2 years, and I get plumes of vapor. And no I am not burning my juice at all. It really depends on the set up you are using. Even at fixed 3.7 volts on a LR carto i have great vapor production. Since the OP is a new vaper, I do not want her to be misinformed about the vapor production of PG. I do agree that PG can cause more irritation for some people, and I am lucky PG doesn't bother me. Just my 2 cents!

Sore throat is a common part of quitting smoking. Dehydration, withdrawing from the toxic parts of a cigarette, etc etc can cause a sore throat. Given the time of year it is, a virus of some sort should certainly be considered as well.

That is an optical illusion to impress viewers. The camera is set up to make the vapor appear huge, and typically the person in the video blows directly into the camera's "tunnel vision". Being a photographer yourself, I'm sure you can understand the technique.
