DO NOT USE COTTON!

It's not a genny at all if you put cotton in it! Gennies use mesh and mesh only. If you want to use cotton get a dripper, and don't build a genny as something it's not!

That is just rude.............and wrong.
Mesh has become the Top choice in wick material by Purist and that is fine, but it works very well with other wicking methods which answer the issue some have using Mesh.
Why bash the user and the tanks ability?
We used to discuss many ideas.
SS Wire was very popular and done right worked as well, according to some, as Mesh.
Mesh with a thin cotton center, done right, will wick like a leaking faucet. I can actually keep the fill plug in place and vape with the wick on the high side of the tank.

Just admitted I'm a Dinosaur:facepalm:

It is neither. It's the truth. While I will concede that you can put foreign wicking materials into what is intended as a genesis atomizer, you cannot thereafter accurately or honestly call it a genny. It's something else at that point, such as an auto-dripper.

This was my first adventure into using/building on a genesiss device. It was called a DID mini and came with a small amount of mesh.

bought it about 17 months ago.---31.00View attachment 484061
...........
Have a few of these.(multipule purchase syndrome)
They were a frustrating fun build experience being so small.
Never failed to fail if I took one out of the house.:(

I also have an AGA-S and really like it.

Hmmmmmmm.....might have to give it a whirl on a TC mod. See if the Can't see when it is empty thing - warning saves me. (DRY COIL) :D

@crxess -------that was the problem always never knew if I needed ejuice or not . Put the mesh in and it worked but had to experiment and finally

after 2 weeks of tilting and shaking this upside down to get it to wick-------discovered that it would wick great if the fill screw was removed.

I was thoroughly convinced that if I built this rite that I would not have to remove the fill screw...................

I haven't flossed my coils but the pick end works great for removing stubborn o-rings :)

oh holy sheeeet all this time Ive been doing it wrong been using silica wick to feed a rayon bed of wicking and having the best vape of my life with a dragon nano horizontal coil in the rayon wicks.....
luv ya to death Vas but.... its the design of the atty that makes it a genny, not the wick... I could put mesh in a standard dripper, but it doesnt make it a genny.... hope you still like me... I still adore you :)

Stick to those Guns!
We Dinosaurs gotta protect our forage:D

Honestly I feel tanks are a means to contain e-liquid in volume.
Wicking is an Abstract art form and all Artist have their personal style.

I've done many styles of Mesh wick and all can work well or be a disaster in a given application.
I do believe the Original RSST was Possessed:-x

Guess Im a dinosaur now too.. I really stopped following the latest and greatest at the beginning of the year. I got my 2 Sigelei Minis and they were all I needed. Never felt the need to bother with the gargantuo 100w mods. I like my guitar amps at 100w, but my mods only need 18-20. A month or two ago I went backwards and got my first mech (and then another the same week) and the Sigelei hasnt been touched since. Im totally fine with it, and love the fact that nothing on these is going to just stop working one day. I can tell when my batteries dont have that punch anymore, and its always long before they hit the voltage my regulated mods let them go to, so charging is actually quicker now too. At this point in time, I dont see myself getting anything regulated in the near future, but I do see myself getting some more mechs. :D

I prefer ReadyxWick in the Zen Attys. They were just made for auto dripping...

I so wish I knew just one other genny vaper here I could socialize it with,

Hang around a vape shop long enough and you'll spot the genny users. They have juice stains on their car seats from when they set their mod down.

Seems to me the two most content groups of vapers are gennie and Reo users.

Once one gets ones mesh skills up to a level where it's not annoying, there is no other setup that requires less maintenance. This is important to me as I'm currently at a point where vaping is just something I do. Push a button - have a vape. That's all I want.

A nice trick to make gennies wick like there's no plug while remain 99% leak proof - use the nozzle off of an e-liquid bottle as plug. The narrower opening, the better. Trick is to let air in through a hole too small for our viscous liquids to get out of. May take a little trial and error as some nozzles will only make a faucet.

The gennies I've set up to be pocketable can essentially be juggled in any temperature without spilling a drop. Which I have yet to see other setups do reliably.

Very good plan you have here--------It crossed my mind when I was building on the did mini---to tuck a little cotton into the fill hole and it did work

marginally----needed the snout from a ejuice bottle like you said. I left the fill screw out and never let it lay on it's side and that workrd good.

I then discovered the Nautilus full size about 17 months ago and my troubles were over--------hahahhhhhah............
