We were traveling down in town the other day, had to stop and get gas. Well, since my wife won't let me vape in the car for some reason, I decided I would grab a few Puffs whilst pumping Gas. So there I am pumping (and puffing) away and no one even notices until I go inside to pay. Then everyone in the store has something to say. So I decided to hold a little ecig class and explain everything I could about it. some were still skeptical but most of them I won over even some that were in there to purchase analogs. So I told them all about the forum and some of the different devices and flavors and whatnot.

So I guess its ok to smoke around explosive vapors but not in the convenience store attached

LOL my $0.02 VN... Might not be wise to Vape around the gas pumps. There is still a chance (however remote) that you could ignite the fumes and cause a BOOM... wouldn't want that now would we?

I never even thought of that until one day I was at a gas station and the attendent come out giving me guff for vaping (actually called it vaping.. he knew what e-cigs were.. 8-o lol) and explained that the electrical componets still pose a risk (the same way cell phones do) but he was more than happy to let me vape inside the nice A/C'd store with him while I waited for the pump to do it's thing :D

Nope.. that wouldn't work ... the plastic could still carry a static charge.. would have to get a giant rubber ball without air holes! (Air holes would still let fumes in and possible ignition out)

ok so a giant rubber sealed ball for vaping and calling and hand rubbing and car leaning. Oh, can,t forget to ground the ball with a 12 foot copper sunk rod into the ground.

Ah screw it i'll just have my wife take it to fill it up

VN - good call on getting the wife to fill-er-up ... but .. good luck convincing her of the necessity, I know if my BF tried to get me to agree to be the only one getting gas I'd put his eye out with my 510 :D .. though in all fairness a lot of women are much nicer than me.

Chad - IDC What mythbusters has to say.. it is possible (no matter how slim the chance) that any sort of spark can ignite gas fumes.. dropping your pocket knife on the asphalt could potentially cause an ignition.. not saying it's likely .. it might be a 1 in a million chance, but it's still a chance..... now ask how many of those "don't do this at the pump" things I really care about? :p

technically, not even supposed to use a cell phone while pumping gas.

Supposed to actually turn them off. Seriously, does ANYONE do this? You also can throw a lit cigarette onto gasoline and although it could happen, chances are it won't ignite. Those warnings are not becuase they will happen but because they could happen. And Having a fire at a gasoline station would be a VERY bad thing to happen. Do you really want to take that risk?
