After being disappointed with the vape shops in Philadelphia, I saw an odd looking store that had "vapes" on an outside sign. It was a pawn shop! One section of the display case was filled with decent mods, and decent atomizers. It was better stuff than I saw in the vape shops. I bought a new still-sealed-in-the- box pioneer4you iPV5 mod for $60. I found out later that the going price on elementvape.com is closer to $50. Lesson learned, knowledge and the willingness to haggle are necessary.

But still, this opens up possibilities as things get worse. Anything used, of course, would need to be checked out and should be discounted as used merch.

Its sad to think that things are coming to this.

There are still lots of pawn shops here in "The Meadows" where I live. No idea if they are buying/reselling vape gear though. But they are notorious for having inflated selling prices and paying low prices for what they buy. Some will haggle a little, but there are no bargains at them. It all kind of fits here though IAMA this city has gone back to its roots. Block 18 was coined with the name "Sin City" in the early 1900's (the booze, gambling and prostitution), and the first casino opened here in 1906.

Just like now days prostitution was illegal here back then, but it still flourished then as well (currently it is legal in eight counties in this state, but not in this one). Closest legal one to here is about 60 miles away in Pahrump, Nye County.

We still have some pawn shops around town, 2 kinda near me, but I've never been to one. I would have never thought to look for vape gear in a pawn shop but I suppose they have a little bit of anything they could make money on. It is really is sad things are playing out this way. We all knew the industry was going to become heavily regulated but I never thought, or didn't want to think, it would a near prohibition experience or so ostracized. It's crazy to me to think cigarette smoking is more acceptable than vaping in our enlightened healthier options harm reduction centric society of today.
