No asthma, no visible symptoms. He only has a problem when we are in the same room and I am vaping.

I vape different ratios, anywhere from 50/50 to 80/20 PG/VG

If I heard him cough or see him rubbing his eyes, I'd stop right away, but it's hard to believe because he doesn't appear short of breath or anything

Well all of that coupled with his fussing about the noise? I would say he is full of it!

He only complains when he sees you vaping. I am guessing he heard something negative about vaping and it stuck in his head.

Either tell hm to get over it and that he is being a drama queen or spend your time in another room. When he asks you why you know longer sitt in the room with him tell him because he complains about your vaping. Or tell him if it bothes him so much he can leave the room.

My husband actually did react badly to one flavor I used (a citrus) confirmed by me trying to sneak it in again  after the first reaction, which of course happened in the car on a two hour trip when I didn't have another flavor with me.

It might be worth trying pure VG as recommended above and/or trying a totally different family of flavors.

They may have a slight PG allergy, but like Rickajo said, I believe that most of it is psychosomatic. I'd probably do a test... rent a movie for movie night, turn off the lights for the movie, and vape away. hopefully the sound of the movie will mask the sound of vaping. Sit behind him somehow, and see if he starts having a problem or complains. Once he see's you vaping, the gig is up.

Another option, is to one day fill your atomizer with water and pretend you're vaping.

It's hard for some people to accept vaping as safer than cigarettes. Most of those people have pre-set ideals as to what they will experience, and they'll react accordingly. It's like if you were to think about your ear itching, you will eventually feel that itch.. either in your ear or somewhere else.

Now, that being said, he COULD have a true PG allergy. Only testing can tell the truth though.

As far as the sound... not much you can do about that. Most of my larger atomziers when built correctly are quite silent. The stainless and glass with rubber washers help mute the sound. if I get a whistle, I chamfer and sand the airhole. I've managed to completely eliminate the whistle of my Kayfuns, but it was a lot of work to do.

My girlfriend says she can't stand the smell of my vapor no matter what flavor I'm using (she says it's not so much that it stinks, it's just that she doesn't like the smell) & she says it burns her nose if she accidentally breathes it in her nose.

I had to stop vaping one of my favorites due to it's smell. My wife didn't like it. It was backed up by others, so it was a valid concern. I was vaping a caramel, and everyone said it smelled like maple syrup. Once, I had my PV in my pocket when I was clocking in at work in the break room. About four people commented "I smell pancakes" after I walked in.... I wasn't even vaping it. So, I guess the odor was quite strong.

Hi everyone,

My husband says that when I vape in the same room as him, it bothers his eyes and "effects his breathing" has anyone else had people in their household make the same complaints? Sometimes I wonder if its a little psychological with him (he doesn't like the sound sometimes too), but I don't want to do it in the house if it really is physically irritating.

Just curious?

Has your Husband dropped any Subtle Hints about buying a Pool Table and turning the Basement into a "Man Cave"?

I am so sorry you are having this problem because personally I feel like he should support your vaping in any way and be very proud of you simply for the fact that you have quit smoking. I use to go outside to smoke so I wouldn't bother anyone. Now that I vape, I do it inside and if anyone has a problem with it they can go outside. I could understand it more if other smells, fresheners, cigarettes etc. bothered him. The sound? Turn up the tv to help drowned it out. I sure hope others suggestions help you. That is what is so wonderful about ecf and the people that are here. This is one place you will find support and concern. Congrats to you for vaping and I wish you well and look forward to reading more posts from you. Let us know what you do that does help so maybe it will will help others that don't feel the way I do. :D

LOL! We do have our basement partially finished, drywall up, but all of that got put on hold when HE blew the motor to his Mini Cooper. With the cost of that he should be kissing my .... for saving money by vaping!

When I first started vaping, my wife (still smoking BTW) would do the fake cough and hand flapping bit and then the complaining started. I asked her would she rather I kept up smoking(50 yrs., PAD) and be dead within a year? Never heard another word. If he can tolerate the smells of cleaners and air freshners (OMG nasty), a little vape should be of little or no consequence. I think he's just being a whiney bunghole.

I'm hearing and seeing LOTS of subtle ANTZ-inspired nonsense here regarding the dangers of vaping, the dangers of 2nd-hand vapor, the danger to the CHILDREN, the physiological reactions of the "pure ones" to noxious poisons produced by vaping, and all THAT. Sure sounds suspicious and just plain hokey to me.........

My best advice? Dump the husband and invest in massive cloud-producing equipment and gourmet juices. :p
Seriously, though, all the best with your "problem".
