Vaping is changing my voice as a never-smoker. Anyone else?

I am a never-smoker, not having ever smoked a single cigarette, and I recently started vaping.

For some reason I have noticed that since starting, my normal talking voice has gotten somehow lower in tone depth.

This isn't only while vaping per se, but also hours and possibly a day or so after last vaping.

Originally I thought this might be because of PG/VG being hygroscopic, drying out my vocal cords, but even drinking lots of water, the change persists.

Though I am not entirely sure, I think my juice is 65%PG 35%VG. No nicotine.

Is anyone else experiencing voice changes after starting to vape?

I found PG an irritant. And persistent almost unavoidable use due to its inclusion in flavorings has affected the high end of the voice register. So, yep. Ran into that early on. Unfortunately if you're a juice fan you'll see a lot of it. Why I try DIY as much as I possibly can. Don't buy in to the you need PG for flavor. Find yourself some good 100% VG sources and put it to the test.

Dry hits compound the problem so maintain the gear, juice levels and try to avoid them.

Good luck.

For sure. I recommend Natur Liquid Creme. Even at 90% VG that flavor is still super sweet.

Thanks, this makes a lot of sense. I have no way of explaining it otherwise. Just ordered 500ml of 100% VG, various flavors, syringes and lots of containers.

Thanks for the suggestion but their store doesn't seem to ship outside the U.S.

You had to do that, dintcha? Another one to try.

I've developed somewhat of a tolerance for PG. And I do much better with my own DIY mixes at higher levels (still trying to figure that out). Straight VG and I'm in heaven but I'm a flavor junkie even if flavor sensitive. Only flavor that I find somewhat irritating is cinnamon but nothing like PG.

Reborn, I reconstructed a '92 LTC for the superb air-ride. If that's where you're at, well done.

Good luck. Vape on.

:)

How about sterility? I vape a lot of menthol...

I can't really say I experience a long lasting voice change, but I do get itchy throat with some liquids or I sometimes need to clear my throat a lot, mostly when it's really hot. Then my voice tends to be lower but it comes back in time. I can swear my voice was changed by the years of smoking and drinking though, but it's kinda blurry...
