I have been a cigarette smoker for 10 years and am only 25 years of age. I have quit about a year back thanks to e-cigs. It was a lifesaver for me and truly the only thing that was effective in helping me kick the habit after many, many tries. I also enjoy it very much as a safer alternative to smoke. Now lately I been reading all sorts of articles in regards to the government closing down on our beloved ecigs and it is very upsetting to me personally since I have found them to be such a tremendous positive impact on my health and lifestyle. I feel so much better in comparison to when I used to smoke. And it saddens me to see this coming to effect. But do not worry, as I believe that even if vaping is banned, we will still be able to get by. I for one know for a fact vaping is not going anywhere. It just may become more difficult to come by if some of our favorite vendors are forced to shut down. It's already happened to a few because of major merchant account service providers such as Authorize.net, PayPal and more refusing service. As well as other various reasons. But just think about it like this. If they do decide to ban, I for one will just resort to DIY and learn to make my own e-liquid. The supplies can be purchased relatively easy. Rebuildable atomizers will also provide a reliable long term solution with few simple supplies such as wick and wire. Last but not least the Provari I purchased last night is built like a tank and am sure will withstand long life. Personally, one way or another I will figure out a way. And if you love vaping as much as I do, so should you. Keep fighting for our right to vape but do not be afraid of even the worst outcome, it can and will be overcome if need be. My best wishes to the suppliers who provide us great products that we love and continue to innovate with new technologies that have to deal with these regulations. Vape on! Peace..

My concern is the regulation of liquid nicotine. That would be a major issue, as I wouldn't want to be buying it in some alley somewhere from a guy in a trenchcoat. Or was that candy??? <walks away muttering>

I think it depends on what KIND of regulation,,,,,,,

keeping it away from kids,,,,I'm fine with it,,,,,

taxing it,,,,,,,,,I'm ok with that (within reason),,,,

prohibiting it,,,,,,,,,,well, it won't affect ME, but I'd definitely NOT be fine with that,,,,,,,

I think the biggest thing is the on-line sales age verification. At least that's what the FDA says. They want to tax it because they are loosing more and more tax revenue everyday from so many people making the switch. They wont be able to stop on-line sales of mods... just e liquid. Its all about money. This is evident because anyone with even an inkling of common sense can see e cigs are more healthy than analogs. The FDA does not care about the health of anyone except their wallet. E cigs are cutting into the profits of BT, BP, and tax revenue BOTTOM LINE! If the FDA over taxes the sales of e liquid they are going to create a black market. I have stocked up on nic base e liquid for DIY so if anything happens I should be okay for about a year... All we can do is wait and see.

I feel the need to learn DIY either way. It just makes sense to me as the "next step". I mean I went from a tiny cigalike to a provari, from a prefilled cartridge to a rebuildable atomizer, now I just have to learn how to make the e-liquid :) Always been kinda intimidated by it though lol. Every time I picture myself mixing smoke juice I see Walter White from Breaking Bad mixin' it up in the lab lol.

if a 48 year old grandmother (me) can do it, you surely can! Head over to the DIY boards,,,,,,lots of help and info there!

I know this issue has been beat to death but I'll post my opinion here anyway...

Regulation is not only a good thing, it's a necessary thing. Federal and state laws will never allow this industry to survive without it. No matter what uncle Sam is going to want to collect taxes, let them have it. If you don't they'll challenge this every step of the way and they'll eventually win. I also want them to have laws in place where safety stickers and batch numbers / dates are required on all juice bottles. Child protective caps and laws against minors so they can't get their hands on them as easily.

All of these things aren't bad and in the eye of the public will actually make people look differently at us vapers. I don't want people to look at vapers and compare us to smokers, not that smokers are aliens but they are treated as such at times. Anyway that's just my two cents and I feel I've posted this like a thousand times now so I'll stop.

I'm no student of government, but this is how I understand it. The FDA can regulate (not ban given current court rulings) the distribution of nicotine as a tobacco product. They could go as far as to limit retail sales to prefilled cartos (for safety reasons) with liquids requiring a license, for example. I believe if it were to be taxed, that would take an act of Congress and fall under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. But I could be wrong.

Regulation of? Ingredients? Already done. They don't need to regulate the juice any further than they regulate my neighborhood bakery. The electronics either. There are plenty of crap electronics out there already in all areas. It's a buyer beware kind of thing. Better they focus on regulating GMO foods with no nutrition and kids toys and pet foods.

I already pay tax dollars on what I buy. It's called sales tax. They have no basis in reality for taxing it any further than that. But I'm sure they'll be making up some reasons soon.

This is one of the most naive (at best) posts I have read on this issue. Please learn the history of vaping and read/listen to those who are against vaping. You are stating that you are fine with the "deeming" regulations that the FDA is proposing for vaping. Have you read the deeming regulations? Are you fine with that level of restrictions that is as close to a complete "ban" without an actual ban??

What are you basing your "faith" in the FDA on? Why are you in favor of the FDA's deeming regulations??
