vaping for me started out as a way to kick the smokes. A brush with a crappy ego almost stopped me taking it further but I eventually bought a BVC and some Vampire Vape Heisenberg. That day I sat there and vapes 2 full ranks in one sitting wondering how well it would work. That was my setup for about 3 months.

Fast forward 3 years and I'm now rebuilding drippers and I enjoy the process. Even when I was a smoker, I much preferred the satisfaction of making my own cancer sticks so this was a natural evolution (over 2.5 years).

I recently, after the birth of Baby 2, relapsed into smoking. I had a pouch of bacco and was smoking 5 or 6 a day. Not as much as before but a massive amount to me.

My moment of catharsis was rolling a ... in work, stopping halfway and binning it. Went out for a vape instead, ended up deciding to buy a new mod and bought a whole new setup the next day.

I think the last time I was excited about something was shortly after asking Mrs. States to marry me.

I had recently had surgery and needed a cathetor for a few days. Bag was hung from a chair near my bed. After she said yes she ran out of the room to call her mom and tripped over the hose....
Now that was exciting.
Holy crap!!

Or the time I was vacuuming with one hand and holding the cathetor bag in the other near steps and dining room chairs....and the cord of the bag snagged a chair that went flying down the stairs with me chasing after it while the vacuum followed..
Boy was I glad when that cathetor was gone.

Stop... please... you're making me squirm..... OOOOUUUUUCCCCCCHHHHHHH...…………..

Vaping is so boring, my beautiful mod has committed suicide. Oh, wait... it's a Suicide King! :D

I'm a bit excited to issue my brother in law a temp controlled Zero later today at our annual Christmas Eve gathering. He was smoke free for several years then resumed. I think he hates his job so much he'd just rather be gunned down by a disgruntled worker than report back each day. So he smokes until then.

He vaped a pen for a while. I remember my 3+ second per hit brother choking like crazy when he hit bro-in-laws device a few years back.

I'm going to gift him "smooooooth" this year with some 25mg nic salt by Mad Hatter called 'grappleberry'. Maybe my sister will see him more since he's not allowed to smoke indoors.

She quit when he did and still uses a losenge a few times a week. When he resumed she told him "get that awful smelling thing outta my house". lol.

On 1/4/19, will be my 9 year anniversary. I read all the posts on this thread and I have to say that I am still excited about vaping. The level of excitement comes and goes but I will always be grateful for vaping and excited about all the advances. It has been a marvelous ride.

The only thing that doesn't excite me is the FDA. I just heard that Aaron Biebert is making a new documentary, this one is about nicotine. That is exciting to me.

Congrats to all those celebrating a vape anniversary.

I too, share your January Vape-A-Verysary, rose! (not the 4th, but definitely January)

And a huge YAAAAAAAAAAY to Aaron for being amidst this new endeavor (the film "#You don't know nicotine").

For anyone interested, there's a FB page, and also a place on their project page (The Film Collaborative website) and even a place on that page to donate, should anyone be so inclined.

(feel free to PM me for either website and/or more info.)

He's an amazing man, with amazing vision. I support him with all heart.

I wouldnt say vaping is exciting to me. I still enjoy the hobby of it, but I have been just maintaining it for a while. I do however find this exciting

Which I wouldn't be doing at 44 years old if I was still smoking like I was. Let alone keeping up with people half my age. Hell I wouldn't be able to afford that bike to begin with.

That photo makes my shoulder ache.
I took up downhill skateboarding at 40. Christmas day 2007 (at 47) I was racing my step son when "wham!!" I hit a rock, went flying like Superman on krypton and "splat"....
Trouble was about the time my reactions realized I was falling I'd already hit the pavement.

Busted ribs, dislocated shoulder and elbow I stood up, popped my **** back into place and decided that was the last time that was going to happen.

6 months later my arm worked again and I contemplated a July 4th one last time but needed to hang a bird feeder first. God has a sense of humor and decided I needed to fall off a ladder on that same side. I figured it was to keep me from killing myself on a skateboard and thanked Him.
(Note: that was a few years after the cathetor thing)

At 54 I prefer to photograph you brave souls Skunk.

At 50 I decided cars that go 60mph in second gear was a good idea. I tweaked the tranny on one that could reach 150 with cruiser gears so it could reach 200. It sits under a nice cover these days.

So living life vicariously through my oldest son I helped him build a motor for his hot rod and made sure things were perfectly installed. It took nearly a year to take out one engine and put in another as we restored the car along the way. Mine has a broken head gasket while his is still running perfect some 4 years later.

So to me, exciting is the joy of a quiet Christmas morning with the dogs all snoring and Mrs. States chatting with family living far from home. And my little Renova Zero putting out a tastey toke with coffee this morning. That's exciting enough these days.

Has anyone of you gotten bored from vaping yet? The excitement of buying new fancy stuff and trying flavors etc has been long gone for me.

I feel the same. Nothing has gotten better then what I have already. If I need to replace a mod due to parts, damage, etc. I'll buy and replace but I don't chase the new things or try and vape like others. I'm fine where I am. Vaping is boring compared to when I first got into it but I still keep up.
