Funny you should say that because I just hooked up my Smoktech 5ML DCT to this:

vaping some Almond Coconut right now, awesome.

Yeah, it really depends how you go about it -- and also, how much cigarettes are where you live. For me, even the bargain cigarettes are $13.50 a pack where I live, so at just over a pack-a-day (30 smokes a day, 25 in a pack here) I was spending almost $400 on cigarettes a month.

While I've spent just a little more on vaping now than I would have on smokes (I've, err, bought a few things since I updated the vaping total in my cig), the difference is that the money I would have spent on cigarettes to this point would all be burned up. The smokes would be gone. But the money I invested in vaping has left me set up with tons of juice and a good stock of hardware and parts. Since I'll probably chill on the hardware part after this, I expect to start saving at least $300 a month beginning in September, depending on how much juice I order to replenish supplies.

Basically, I'd say just determine what's a comfortable level for you in terms of how much value you get out of vaping, both in terms of what you're not spending on smokes, AND in terms of what the health and enjoyment benefits you get mean to you. Then turn that into a budget, and stick to it -- it's SO EASY to drop tons of money ordering the new buzz juice or upgrading hardware, but if you set a limit and respect it you can get a decent vape without a ton of money.

And, err, if you want to save some cash, try to stay off ECF -- every time I venture into the Eliquid discussion section here I end up placing some big ol' order from some raved-about company, hah.

As I have noticed, first weeks (months to some) is much more expensive than actual analogs, but when you get used to look at what you buy (I mean stop buying chocolate cake taste juice or coloured mouthpieces), get better places to buy your stuff from (my friend bought his first 2 bottles for more than $4 per 10ml , when now he can get it half the price at ease online) and start fixing your equipment instead of tossing it away, you will spend much less! And if you start making your juice by yourself, vaping for month gonna cost you less than analogs for week!

I DIY. 2 weeks vaping costs me less than 1 day smoking.

Haven't saved a dime, I'm sure, but happily vaping for 1.5 years now. Got a Provari, 2 Lavatubes that I rarely use anymore, 3 ego passthroughs, and as of today, a iTaste SVD that I ordered from Fasttech for $60 with 2 iClear 30 tanks....... I'm set as far as equipment goes and I have a rather large collection of juices.......... no money saved but I'm happily vaping.:p:D

I recently figured it out - have spent an average of $3.73 a week on vaping in the last 2 years, vaping 2-3 mg's a day of 30mg/ml eliquid. Since I was smoking 2 packs a day before I started vaping, I have saved a ton.

Vaping can be done very cheaply. But, if you start believing you have to try every new mod, cleao, carto, rebuildable , and flavor that someone raves about on ecf, you are going to spend a ton.

when i used to smoke, i'd spend maybe $60-$80/month on cigarettes.
i felt i was spending way too much money on cigarettes.

then i got into vaping, thought i'll actually save a LOT more money on cigs.
it turns out, just last and this month combined, i spent close to $600!

last week i went to vape shop, i walked out $50 lighter. today i walked into vape shop, i walked out $70 lighter.
yikes! i feel so guilty, as if i just spent my life savings on gambling. (not saying i have ever done so)

I find vapeing for me becomes more of a hobby, I've never smoked but I can see how it may be cheaper in most cases, but if you have the money and you gain enjoyment from it than keep doing it, your first I'd say year is costly trying flavors trying mods and tanks etc soon as you did what you like than your costs go down to just juice and cartos and the odd treat here and their.

Happy vapeing

I have an app called vapemate on my iPhone. Pretty cool and free!! Keeps up with true savings and cost, check it out!!

I have this app as well and its great! Lets me know that I've spent $250 and I'm just under $100 in the red. The only problem is it doesn't account for all of the gas I've used running around like a mad man looking for the better vape.

Initially vaping does cost much more. With the kit, charges, batteries, and testing 3-4 juices quickly. Hang tight if you can face it in the beginning. Long term, I think its cheaper personally. Lets not also forget healthier, and you cant put a price on your long term health (medical costs in the future). I would definitely suggest sticking with the initial costs.

Problem is, I don't have an iphone. If I buy one just to get this ap would that be considered a vaping purchase? I'll need a ruling on this before I proceed.

It's not available for Android. #1 app for Droids is called Vape. go figure.
It seems to be about the same thing.

Let see
Me and wife smoke a pack a piece a day 5.50x2 = $11.00 a day on cigs, 365 days a year = $4015, quick...tell me how much I spent in 15+ years of smoking? (my house costs $55K)

Mods and e-juice and all that stuff...that is ALOT of stuff to cost MORE than cigs

If the government can manage to screw up a good thing...it might be less cost effective, but at this time...its MUCH MUCH cheaper to put down the analogs
