Hi there!

Just wanted to pop in here and introduce myself. Love nicotine, hate smoke and tobacco, so eCigs are a dream come true for me. I'm a freelance writer and love to smoke them while I write.

I will admit that I know absolutely nothing about vaping outside of disposable cigarettes, which need to come to a screeching halt because they're costing me a fortune. At the moment, our Circle Ks here in Memphis are still brimming with those promotional buy-one-get-one-free two-packs of NJOYs for $9, but I'm lucky if those things last me three days, and that's only if I nurse them. (I do love the way those taste and the flip-top case, though. And, woo, the reds used to pack a wallop before they redesigned the filter from one hole to three slits, which seems to dilute the effect now.)

I'll also often buy whatever weird brand is on sale at Walgreens for around $4 – they usually almost always have Finiti Midnights or something similar marked down. No real opinion on those, except they taste kind of like coffee-in-a-stick and are more placebo-effect than anything.

Anyway, I found this forum when I was researching the Blu rechargeable packs that are also oh-so-available at Walgreens and convenience stores. I was thinking of trying one because they're relatively affordable, look pretty easy and, TBH, the vaping kits online seem sort of intimidating to me. Some of them look like chemistry sets.

However, after reading some threads here and lurking around for a few days, I guess I might pass on those. Now I'm just kind of paralyzed with "what the hell do I do now?"

So damn, that was a long way of saying hi and that I'm basically just here to learn whatever I can before I buy a kit. :)

Thanks for this forum and for having me as a member!

Hey Seraphim, welcome! I'm in Memphis too and I also started with the Njoy. My suggestion would be to go to one of the vape shops in town and look at Ego twist setup or an Itaste VV or MVP. If you buy them online line they are about 1/3 the price. What area are you in I could point you towards a shop where they are actually friendly and helpful? Zooks on Whitten in Bartlett is great and not too over-priced.

Welcome to ECF!! :toast:

Starting out can be very confusing, and will depend a lot on what you are looking for, and how much you may have been smoking. If you have been using disposables and wish to stay with a small unit (needing to recharge frequently) I would recommend something like this...
Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette

If you wanted a longer lasting battery charge, and larger eliquid tank than this might suffice....
Kanger eVod Kit - Black

Either one would allow you to try different flavors of eliquid easily. Finding your favorite flavors can be expensive (buy small samples) as there are hundreds of different available.

Welcome to Vaping.. ! I too lurked for a few days, its the norm I think lol..

Once you get a decent starter kit and find a flavor/juice you like, you'll never go back to them eCigs, at least that was my case.
I drive a truck for a living and just about EVERY truck stop you goto in this country has them eCigs, so if vaping isn't your cup of tea, you could always stop in there.
Depending where you live in Memphis, Id say hit up the LOVE's truck stops, for them eCigs..

Honestly I think you should find a nice Vap shop that has knowledgeable people to help walk you through the basics and help you choose a setup that works best for you.
Test out juices and find a few that appeal to your tastebuds and get a few tanks..
Good luck and welcome again !

Hello there, welcome! Just wanted to offer a suggestion for a step up in your vape journey; I use the Innokin Itaste vv v3 topped with a mini Protank 2 or Mini Davide clearomizer. The vv v3 is easy to use and offers a user friendly intro to variable watts/volts vaping at a very reasonable price, the express kit, which includes the vv v3 battery and a usb charger, can be found online for $25-$30. The mini Protank 2 or mini Davide clearomizers have the advantage of having a glass tank, (some juices are known to crack a plastic tank) they also use a simple to replace bottom coil, just unscrew the old coil and screw in the new one, easy peasy. The coils (Kanger) are reasonably priced and widely available online, and are pretty easy to learn to rebuild, dropping your coil cost to almost nothing.

I've been very happy with this setup and own several of them, they're sleek looking, not too big, and are pretty hassle free.

Welcome...

It can seem intimidating at first...

There are so many diferent directions you can go with vaping...

I also recommend the Itaste VV and Kanger Protank Mini.... Flexible set-up and small enough to carry around...

If you have any shops that are local, they can be a great resource... However, get some recommendations from Vapers in your area.. some shops can have a vibe that just doesn't feel welcoming to those who aren't chasing clouds (Advanced users looking for huge amounts of vapor)...

Again, welcome!

I'll suggest to you what I suggest to Everyone who is New. Don't Worry and Don't feel like you have to Learn Everything in a Day.

Everyone here is Nice. And if you tell them what is Important to you in an e-Cigarette (Small Size?, Long Battery Life? Mega Hit? ) and about how much you want to Spend, you will get Lots of Good Suggestions.
