Vaping PG or VG only

I want to start making my own juice but trying to perfect a PG/VG/nic base. When I vape only VG or PG I do not get a bad taste but in each case it will irritate my throat to where it makes me cough. Is this normal. I got the PG , VG and nic (18 mg/ml) from Wizards Lab.

I may not reply quickly because I work 3rd shift. Thanks for ant replies.

I have been following this forum since I started Ecigs last December. I use a nautilus at 1.8 ohms with a iStick 50W.

It is not clear to me if this irritation also occurs when you vape PG with VG together?

If yes, then maybe it is the relatively high nic level that irritates you?

I used PG only then VG only. No nic.
