Vaping vs Smoking Equivalent Nicotine Intake - Does Vaping Cause Way Higher Nicotine Intake?

It always amazes me when some folk either get the bone between their teeth or mount up on their hobby horses and ride the poor things to death ... usually about very little!

I think we all know the symptoms of Nic Overdose and that if you drink gallons of water it mitigates them which keeps you that busy trotting back and forward to the toilet you don't have to worry about vaping 30 mils a month or whatever.

I can neither see what the OP's worrying about not why he needs to fester on about it ... unless of course The Officer wheeled the next one in while I was out yesterday!

But apparently he was vaping a whopping 3mls a mon

That might be 9 bucks for 15mls....I now only buy 100mls at a time, so I forget

Another new member over thinking it like most of us did at first. Yes we all did at some point.

Half way through page 1 there's the "you're doing it wrong" "no YOU are" then the statical stuff ensues. "Your facts are wrong" "no YOURS ARE".... By page 2 it's "so where'd the new guy go"....by 4 it's "what was the subject again?" Then the last page is a free for all, then 4 days later the thread is bumped off the page and another new member is shaking their head saying "sheesh, sorry for asking"...

1)When they pop up ,. backspace everything,. Type in 'deleted" so you know it has new content of nothing...( Yes hit post,, no words except delete or whatever come up)

2 ) there is also a tab that looks like a floppy disc. If memory serves it too will allow you to delete whatever you typed

I have been a pack a week Marlboro Light Smoker (basically a social smoker) off an on over the years. I gave vaping a try a few years ago using e-juice with freebase nicotine (12mg I think it was) and didn't like it. For one I found the PG I was mildly allergic too (gave me mild asthma when I smoked it), going with a high VG fluid though solved that. But it still didn't "feel" as pleasurable for an occasional smoke as smoking a Marlboro Light.

Fast forward to more recent and I decided I don't want the all the crap in my lungs that comes with inhaling burning material. So I read up on nic salt based e-juice. I was a bit surprised you can't get it in anything less than 35mg/ml. Picked up an eGo AIO (using 1 ohm coils - equiv of 14-18 watts) and some 35mg salt e-juice, got used to the different throat hit feel compared to smoking, and I ended up loving it! No stinky smoke breath, lungs feel way better (even though I wasn't a frequent smoker.)

The downside is that with the vaping, especially since I use a mild tobacco flavored juice (American Patriot), it doesn't stink up my car or house so I can smoke it like pretty much anywhere, anytime. So I'm finding where before, I'd have to stop working and go out on my deck to smoke a cig, I can vape while sitting at my home office desk!

So I've realized, I'm actually smoking (vaping) a lot more than I smoked because of the convenience. But still not a lot. (Or at least I thought!) Currently I'm going through about 1 30ml bottle of e-juice every 3 months. I'm probably filling my eGo (a 2ml capacity) 1-2 times per week, lets say 1.5 times a week on average, so I'm probably going through about 3ml a week which is about right as then that is about 2 and a half months to go through one 30ml bottle or about my original estimate have how often I go through a bottle.

The thing I'm a bit freaked out about is the calculations I recently did which are...

Marlboro light have 0.8mg of nicotine per cigarette. I never smoked them down that far so I bet I smoked the equivalent of 0.6mg per cig. At 20 cigs in a pack, one pack a week, that's 12mg of nicotine a week.

With the 35mg e-salt juice, if I'm smoking 3ml a week, that's 105mg of nicotine or the equivalent of 175 cigs with 0.6mg each or 8.75 packs a week or a little over a pack a day.

HOLY CRAP! Is this really correct?

Now I know vaping is way more "healthier" than smoking, and moderate nicotine intake isn't all that bad from what I've read (similar to caffeine intake) as long as it's done in moderation, but does it boil down to that the majority of vapers that were smokers have probably not taken time to "do the math" like this and don't realize they are probably taking in WAY more nicotine than they did when they were smokers?

Sorry that you are worried about the nicotine input of e juice you can always cut back, or off in that regard. The big deal is not to light up a cigarette and inhale burning plant material into your lungs. It is not the nicotine that kills you but all the hundreds of other things that coating your lungs. About the nicotine level you are using, if you have a desire for more vape than you had with cigarettes then you are not getting the same that you where. Just because a bottle of vape juice has a nicotine level posted on it does not mean that you are getting that amount. A lot goes in the mix. How you use your mod temperature, airflow, and how well your tank and coils work.

After a couple of similar accidents I trained myself to confine the snotty comments to the inside of my head. I mean, even if people do show up here and complain about us using the plural pronoun then do the same themselves, or lecture us on not sticking to the topic properly, why is it my job to straighten them out? They never listen to me anyway. Oh dear, now I've gone and done it again. I never learn.

I find heathers heavenly vapes are really clean, luv them....I think black note as well, but dont like their flavors anywhere near as much to hhv. I also heard about kind juice, but like black note, they only go up to 18mg which isn't quite high enough. Also with hhv, you get much more options. They are pricey however but with holiday sales and points you accumulate, it's not to bad

I wanted to try Kind but at 18mg it's just a tad to low. I mainly vape Heather's heavenly vapes, been using them for a long time and find their nets really good. I would try their 15ml bottles first, at least if you dont like, it's not as big a loss. As you know taste is subjective , I cant tell you how many times I tried a recommended juice and thought it was crap....saying that, most everyone who has tried their stuff really likes it....grindz is good, but just a pure coffee, kind of non sweet , but if you like more of a latte type, mocha java smooth is really good, but it is dark and a bit of a gunker. For nets, definitely DF . Huntsman is my fav, but more non sweet the DF and perhaps like a grassy, earthy smoke. Legend is good too if you like non sweet. Temptation and shadow are kind of close and are slightly sweet like DF but DF has a unique taste. Temptation and shadow have a hint of chocolate and creme....personally I would try some of those and if you like their profile then try others like heavenly army and heavenly tobacco, those are kind of ry4 ish, so if you like ry4's maybe try one of those.
