Either tobacco companies can follow the wave of the future, and get involved in vaping, for the better, or they'll buy out failing vaping companies and find some way to destroy the industry altogether. This is going to be more commonplace, but it can go either way. I'm still wary of things like this, at least until we see how tobacco companies are going to treat the vape companies they buy out.

I think we will be seeing more of this happening.

I read they were looking for a distribution channel, possibly to include some of their products...

From Turning Point Brands "Our recent acquisition of VaporBeastTM, one of the leading e-commerce platforms and sales organizations serving the evolving channels of retail electronic vapor distribution, complements our line of Zig-Zag® and V2® vaporizers and e-liquids. VaporBeastTM markets a wide range of vapor products, including select e-liquids sold under their own proprietary brands, directly to consumers and to more than 4,700 non-traditional retailers. We have the exclusive retail distribution rights to the V2® brand through a strategic partnership with VMR, a leading on-line brand of electronic cigarettes."

As more vaping companies take a look at the stark reality of the FDA regulations, they'd be silly not to take a deal like this.
Agreed.

Almost everyone involved in vaping dispises BT, but it's kind of hard to hate them if they wave $27M in your face when the industry you built a business in is crumbling around you due to ignorant govt. Good for the owners IMO. Too much uncertainty not to consider taking the money and run.

I've bought from them a few times. I have been glad not to be supporting BT, but, eventually we may not have a choice if it all starts going this route.

Yes agree it may start happening more and more.
One can make a choice if they so choose.
The Mrs and i made a choice as we are more than stocked up
for our remaining years with everything needed just in case all heck breaks loose.

We been off stinky's for around 7 years and certainly not going back .

To clarify about Turning Point Brands, they have always been in the "other" tobacco category, selling rolling paper and DIY cigarette stuff, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, and whatnot along with e cigs like V2. So they're not a classic tobacco company, do not manufacture cigarettes, and I wouldn't think of them as BT (given their revenue, and the fact they only went public last May, they're far from BT).

They appear to be positioning themselves to benefit from the transition away from smoking into e cigs and "other" tobacco, so I do not see them in any way curtailing or certainly closing down Vapor Beast. If anything, they will provide an infusion of capital into VB to increase growth and revenue.

I see this being similar to craft beer breweries being purchased/merged with other craft breweries or small conglomerates. Not the BMC (Bud-Miller-Coors big boys) buying up craft breweries but something like Duval (I think it was them) and Boulevard Brewing (out of KC). Win-Win for each company when it comes to distribution and neither brewery having a negative affect o the other. Little boys trying to get a little bigger to better deal with future changes.

    True.

And TPB acquired more of a Wholesale Distributor than an "e-Cigarette Company" when they bought Vapor Beast.
