The silver has brass internal set posts, the same as the black.
Is there an identifier that denotes 1st or 2nd generation ?On topic: I can confirm that the first version has a wiring issue...the black one I posted on earlier. It indeed only uses one battery, the hot feed from the second tube is not connected correctly. I thought I had addressed this with adjusting the post set screws, but with further testing, no. I have been emailing the seller and even sent a video to the manufacture.
This issue is resolved in the second release of this unit (with the updated chip). The silver one I posted uses both together and charges pretty fast (I think it is 700ma).
Thanks, that makes it pretty simpleUSB port is a good indicator of 2nd generation.
It was BlueridgeDog, not I, that made the comment. I don't have either right now and can't comment.@navychief52 so if I understand correctly if u try each battery tube separately(one battery at a time),one of them doesn't power up the flask?

Kangxin made, with brass fittings. Notice the battery adjustment screws inside the tubes

Finish is great, no flaws that I can see. Panels all fit flush. That white stuff around the top section is just paper towel debris.

Temp control working in a Marquis RDA in single coil mode, with a home-rolled Subtank OCC Ni200 head (sorta), and in a Kayfun V4 clone single coil, all with twisted 30ga.
Only thing I don't like is the 510 connector. It's hella fiddly. Screw came clean out when removing my Subtank, had to spend five minutes on the carpet trying to find the darn thing, and it requires adjustment just about every atty change (Subtank, Marquis, Kayfun, Atlantis, Rogue). My Varitube is going in sooner rather than later.
Fires right from sleep, and only takes a moment from deep sleep (to confirm same coil). Fire button is good, up and down buttons are good, though the up button might be a little sticky, nothing major, just requires center pressure since it's rounded, they're basically Hana-style BB buttons, which are not my favorite.
Just took the batteries out and both have the same level of charge,so it appears I'm using both.
Absolutely love the finish on this thing, it's a very smooth anodizing with just enough texture to provide grip, but not enough to feel like it's powder coated, and in black it's not a fingerprint magnet.
