I assume you are talking about for the Kangxin, and my answer would be not worth the effort and possibly of ruin of a good 510
The kangxin is a tighter space by about 3mm than the waidea and at that the only spring loaded 510 that I found that woud work in it was the FD v3 shorty.
Thanks. Don't really know why I even asked, I have no intention of going spring loaded anyway. If I replace it, it'll have to be manually adjustable for me.

Nicole PM'd me back last night to tell me that WierdWillie's discovery of the poor grounding loop at the 510 and lack of a lower chassis ground from the chip have been reported directly to the Boss over at Waidea along with a recommended course of action to correct these deficiencies as quickly as soon as possible in future manufacturing runs.

(I figured she would have his ear after her review & asked her to relay the report thinking this would result in the fastest corrective action by Waidea. It was pointed out to her that these conditions could affect the flask's temperature protection function, connectivity and proper operation a hell of a lot worse than a proper 510 floating center pin ever would).

Be interesting to see if and when they take action.

Noob question .. My flask seems to be getting very warm when chain vaping, and the duel coil Ni
build @.15 on a Freakshow is getting very hot..have 25 r batts in it, brand new.. Took each batt out and it would fire fine with one.. Batt life is not very good 75% after about 1.5 hours with a full charge.. Is this a grounding issue? Bad build? Or just normal with puffing on it every 30 seconds or so? Also when I took the batts out to check both were working, there was a burnt smell, I have been charging via USB..
Thanks in advance for any input..

I agree with previous posts and suggest you try a single coil build.....asap! Burning smells emanating from battery compartments is very bad!

Mine has been fine since I cleaned and tightened down the top plate. Messing with the 510 was a red herring.

I've ran three full charges of HE4's through it since then (somewhere close to 13000 mAh of use), and I've lost count of how many tanks.

I wouldn't sweat it too much, since it's such an easy fix for what seems on the surface to be a serious problem.

If they do change it perhaps they should send me one for a R&D/QC consulting

LOL! I agree completely! I'll take one for breaking Summers chops relentlessly over 4 Skype conversations until he finally got his boss to send Nicole the review unit and for getting your discovery to Nicole to bring to Waidea's attention for correction. Croak should get one for pointing out the chassis ground & Varitube 2 cent solder washer as a possible fix as well as starting this thread and refereeing it all this time!

Something tells me the three of us will probably have to settle for the warm & fuzzy feeling we get inside for having helped the community get one step closer to a better, more reliable product though!

Personally if I could get Waidea to start producing a 1:1 clone of the Stig Helix with a ChiNA40 in it, I'd be a happy man!

If they used high quality screws for the top plate, and then torqued it down with a quality driver, and masked the top plate and battery threads better when anodizing, they could probably eliminate the grounding issues for most folks. Adding another ground would be good too.
Agreed on all those but I think the chassis ground is a pretty important one to efficiently conduct battery power whether or not the top plate screws are properly torqued to 35 inch pounds in a star pattern or not.

While I had mine apart I went ahead and replaced the Waidea clone board with the latest authentic DNA40 revision, I don't recommend this for inexperienced and I refuse to wright a step by step how to for that LOL

Here is a pic of everything back together with the authentic DNA40 board and Fatdaddy v3 shorty installed working.

Much hassle getting the board/sled out of the Waidea?
Any tips mate?
