Don't get hung up on the apparent Temp! It's not real. At best an approximation. Don't be afraid to go higher to get the vape you want!! I run thos coils at 520 for example!! I'm still alive. It's actualy still not a very warm vape. Nothing is burning for sure. The static resistance go the coil, and atty are contributing to what the mod sees. It's all good!!I see.
Well, I use VS nick coils for Atlantis 2 and the same coil in the mega.
They use Cotten wick so I always assumed no more than 450F.
Might try 500F, but if it's vaping that means that the juice has reached its boiling point? Guess more clouds as more juice is boiling?
I'll try it now at 500f.
For $3 more you could pre-order the touch feeling ones due July 13th. Are they attempting to describe that rubberized finish like on some eGo batteries or something else?
I was just on 3fvape and saw the black SXK Nebula 60 watt and the Kayfun monster v2 style rta clone. I'm gonna pull the trigger on both. Maybe @bloke can tell me with the new large screen SXK chips, if they fixed the resistance issue. Or was that just a SXK flask problem?
I was expecting a page worth of answers and explanations from you specifically, and I got them!I have one large screen, the Nebula, and it has the same issue. It was never specific to the flask, it's always been in the chip - found on every SXK mod: the VF, the rDNA, all the Zero clones, the new Nebula. Ditto any mods from Geeco because they're just re-branded SXK.
For more info on the Nebula, including my unboxing photos, see this thread: SXK's self-branded TC mod - Nebula 50/60; TC with TCR adjustment; Big Screen; C/F temps. Unboxing photos in this post.
I will say that I love the big screen. It's so crisp and clear, it just looks lovely. It has a downside (for me) compared to small screen in that it no longer live-updates the ohms. But that doesn't matter for anyone in practice, only if you're analysing it/are really interested in TC
Regarding low resistance: I heard back from SXK last Friday (June 19th) that they "realised the problem and will work to fix it." So even if they fixed it Monday 22nd, it wouldn't be even manufactured for at least another week from today, and not then in-stock until other units sell out. And they probably didn't fix it that fast - if they even have yet at all. So in practice we're probably looking at another four to six weeks until it's generally available. Depends on when they actually do fix it, and then stock levels at each retailer.
I'll be contacting them again soon and will ask for an update.
Be aware that the problem isn't so devastating for TC as I first assumed. Since I started testing the actual temperature of the coil, I've realised it doesn't seem so bad as first feared. Out of the box for Ni200 you might not really even notice, because they've already set a default Nickel Purity value of 70, which compensates for the general low resistance (around 60 is the correct figure for Ni200.)
So it's only if/when you vape other wires - Titanium for example - that you will find yourself adjusting for it. Even then it's easy. Titanium with its TCR of 0.0035 would be expected to use a NP of 35 - from my temperature testing, in fact 40 is the best figure. (It will be sometimes a little low at 40, but never much over the target temp. At 41 it's never low, but can go up to 15°C over.)
So for Ni200 use 70, for Titanium use 40, and you should be fine. The low resistance still isn't ideal, but it's not ruining the TC as such.
I will add that the TC on the SXK is among the weaker TCs I've used. It works, it's a lot better than no TC. But it's not particularly smooth, you can sometimes tell that it's basically pulsing the coil - voltage, no voltage, voltage, no voltage. It's "jerkier" than TC in a DNA 40 or Yihi chip, or even the Rayn board in the Waidea or Kangxin. And though it's accurate, it's accurate to a 5-10°C (10-20°F) range, rather than often being dead on as the DNA 40 and others can be in ideal circumstances.
Not trying to put you off, I'm still glad I got my SXK VF and I'm daily using all the SXKs I now have (the original 50W VF and a 60W Zero and Nebula.) Just want it to be clear what you're getting.
I'll try and post some temperature probing graphs soon. And I plan to do a fuller review of the Nebula in the next day (in the Nebula thread.)
I was expecting a page worth of answers and explanations from you specifically, and I got them! Thanks. I can feel my authentic DNA's pulse sometimes when the wick is trying to re-saturate during a vape. To be honest, I'm lookin for a mod that has no message that flashes when you reach your set temp limit like the Snowwolf 200. I'm also hoping the new Smok xcube2 has real temp control. I'm super diggin the Bluetooth capability of it. I Want to learn more about it. I wish they would do that with the upcoming DNA 200, I don't own a computer. So all that cool customization you can do with it won't be possible for me.

The spring in my SXK 510 is fairly strong when compared to VS rDNA's 510 spring, just thinking that this might be the cause of the varied resistance reading of the same atty. The Angel flask appears to use the same style socket as the SXK. Just thinking out loud here.
I kind of think FDV sources theirs from China so probably not cloned, probably come from the same manufacturer. They look dead on identical.Yeah I really like the spring 510s the SXKs are using. The one on my VF is good and the Nebula is even better - a really stiff spring, perhaps even as strong as the one in my Dicodes which made a specific point in their TC guide about a strong spring being best. That's very helpful for accurate resistance readings. Not of course that the SXK are accurate, but maybe they will be sometime soon
Didn't you say that the 510 in the VF looks almost identical to the Fat Daddy v3 shorty? Maybe they even cloned it directly.

Ask and you shall receive. I just did a search at 3f for SXK VF and found a black and a blue one with different model numbers so something must be different. Here's the description, then the link:is there a link for that?!?

If it's that rubberized "shark skin" I don't think I want that fragile finish.
