"hey VF,

i see that there are a few units in stock at retail locations. I was wondering if previous issues with the DNA40 board have been tested for this batch?

every batch is tested but these do have the new batch of dna 40 boards in them"

what do you guys think? should i gamble or was it too much of a hassle for you guys

i wanted to upgrade from my hana dna30, (battery life w/ usb charging and a little more wattage). i am not really gonna try to use ni200 right off the bat, but would love the ability to do so if i ever ventured into that area.

In my own little world
Well, I got home from work and plugged in the flask, battery level was a hair under full. Three hours later and the green light finally came on, so my Flask is working perfectly after all and I just need to exercise patience and give it time. Thanks for all the help! Maybe I can return the favor.

For people having trouble with n200 builds, I have found that wrapping your coil legs 360 degrees around the post screws and cranking said screws down until they squish the wire a bit makes the rock solid connection the DNA 40 needs for TP builds. I have had my n200 build on my Kayfun 4 since Saturday morning and it has worked flawlessly in TP mode since I built it. The atomizer has been apart several times to show others how it works and last night I took it apart to clean the coil. Each time I reassemble the atty, the DNA asks me if the coil is new. I tell it "no" and it goes right into TP mode.

My build is on 30g n200, non contact coils, did not count the number of wraps but probably around 11ish which is wrapped on XC-116 wick. Resistance changes from 0.17 to 0.19 depending on ambient temp. TC is set to 530 and vaping at 25.5 Watts. I hit TP right at the end of a 5ish second lung draw. Not 1 dry hit since I built it.

This has worked for a couple of others in the Kayfun 4 thread that were having problems with n200 builds and have tried it.

While this worked for me on a Kayfun 4, I believe it will help on any other atomizer where coil legs are being attached to a post screw as opposed to a post hole.

TP mode is a feature that I though was a gimmick and would never use. I just wanted a Vapor Flask and a 40 Watt Evolv mod. Now that I've used TP mode, I hate that my other mods don't have it and now believe it's the future of vaping.

quick question: does the dna 40 remember settings? for example screw on kanthal rda, and it will go to 30 watts, and screw on ni200 rda it will go to temp control? its gonna be a pain to constantly switch all the time

It automatically senses a kanthal build vs a ni200 Nd will switch between modes however if you set it to 30 watts on a kanthal build then switch to a ni200 build it won't remember your watts from your last nickel build it'll stay at 30 watts but it will remember your last temp setting

Awesome thanks for the info. I hope most of the Qc problems has been solved for as the newer batches should have the newer dna40 chips. What do you guys think should I take the plunge or avoid the headache?

One way to ensure that you get the latest revision of the board is to contact the seller and ask if the Flasks that they are selling can be switched into celsius mode.

Really love the mod, but can't deal with all the issues with DNA and the manufacturing defects I had.
Gonna get myself a refund and perhaps in the future I'll consider the Vapor Flask again, it really is the most aesthetically pleasing mod, with dual 18650 slots and a nice hefty chassis.

Vapor Flask customer service is one of the best I've encountered, they speak English, and they're always trying to make things easier for me. Despite the fact that refunds usually go through the vendor, they've issued me a refund anyway because Hyperion Vape is being evasive and redirecting me to Vapor Flask customer service despite the fact that I purchased the device through them. Won't be ordering from Hyperion again, most likely.

LOL, No. It's my understanding that the larger screen won't be out for a couple more weeks

Not only that but VF would have to change their manufacturing process to make the screen slot larger. Personally, I don't think the larger screen would look very good on the Flask. That is, if they could even do it.

I agree and I don't necessarily want a bigger screen I just like the idea of the screen being a plug-in separate device. If you have a bad screen you won't have to gut the entire device. But most of all I am a fan of Great QC and No glitches (or as programmers call them features).

When I first saw a picture of the DNA-40 board and display I just assumed the screen was a plug-in module. A lot, if not most, of equipment these days that use screens on ribbon strips are plug in style including cell phones. :2c:

They may have made the IMHO mistake of abandoning the plug-in connector in their attempt to keep the board with the same foot-print as the DNA 20 and 30 right down to the new rail mounting that you can break off to replace a DNA 20/30 board.

But that's OK when I am CEO of Evolv I'll take care of all these obvious issues. :p

I ordered mine on the 11th, about 5 minutes after they restocked, and they've been in stock since then. So I'm assumming what they have now is from the same batch
Lol, figures my luck.
Herman called me on that Monday and said he only had a GM and a Clear one and offered me a choice.

Received a replacement on my 'Flask yesterday afternoon. I'd had issues with the button not registering or occasionally getting stuck on. New device has a much 'clickier' button. I just checked and the replacement I received does not have Celsius mode, but it's not something I'd use anyway.

Thanks to VF for great customer service!
