Vapor - Why is it so important?

If most people need just a nicotine then the success rate of all NRT products would have been more then 7%.

But it's not apparently so - vaping will give much more then just a nicotine that's why the success rate of staying out of cigarettes is about 80%.

I have to have my clouds of vapor.

So basically it is psychological - I can understand that...

Yeah, I need my clouds of vapor as well. I really believe that's why I've been successful for the first time ever (so far).
That's the one thing that was missing with everything else I tried (and believe me, I tried everything), was the physical holding of the "cig", the throat hit, and seeing that beautiful smoke, um, I mean vapor, surrounding my crazy head.

I love my plumes of vapour. Inhaling and exhaling invisible gases does not appeal to me. I have smoked for 37+ years, and I once quit for 4.5 years but I missed the physical act of smoking and blowing out smoke. In the end I went back to it. Now, I can have my hand to mouth and billowing clouds with none of the disadvantages of smoking. I love vaping.

That's not to say I would not like to have a completely stealth vape, one with no vapour at all, for use in places where imitating a 1940's railway locomotive is frowned upon. But for all other times, chuff chuff!

I like vapor but it is not the primary thing that I need. Throat hit is. That said though I do like the visual stimulus of the vapor cloud as it does closely approximate what I saw when smoking (though with a much larger volume of "smoke"). I do know however that there are some for whom that visual stimulus is the most important thing and makes them feel like they're still smoking -- they need it, in other words, to derive the level fulfillment out of E-cigs that keeps them away from tobacco.

The standard mantra around here is "everyone is different," and that applies to almost everything about E-cigs and what particular aspects of them everyone places the most importance on and what each person's individual preferences are. Could I get by without big plumes of vapor? Sure, I could make do, but I certainly get more satisfaction when I see sun-blotting clouds issuing forth from my mouth.

For me, vapor is the comforting verification that my vaping equipment is working well and I'm getting my 'meds'!

For me I think it is a psychological thing. I think the reason why e cig's succeed where other types of nicotine replacement fail is the fact that smoking an e cig so closely resembles the real thing that we do not feel deprived in any way. And yes, for me this includes blowing out huge plumes of "smoke" and sometimes making smoke rings or doing a french inhale, but I suppose we all have different triggers and preferences.

When talking to a perspective vaper, I like to ask them (after careful thought and consideration) to list, in order of importance, what they actually need from analogs. TH, vapor production, and a full lung hit are ususally in the top of the heap.

After all, if we didn't need vapor, we could put on a nicorette patch, put a stick in our mouths and pretend to smoke it. That just doesn't cut it for most folks.

Vaping provides all of the aspects of smoking.Taste, throat hit, tactile "touching lips',visual 'vapor', and lastly nicotine to satisfy the addiction. In my opinion all of these things are physiological not psychological. Smoking an ink pen is psychological !

The vaping experience is successful because it covers all of the physical needs and provides the user an experience that closely resembles smoking !

I think vaping is such a big success, because we are getting everything that we had with analogs, EXCEPT all the nasty chemicals. However it would be a good idea to have a stealth juice for those moments when the nicotine fix is more important than vapor clouds.

...or you can just hold the vapor in your lungs a bit before you exhale...minimal vapor that way.

My son is one of those that needs to see vapor to feel good about it.

I've never been of that mindset, I needed the TH.

Now, having said that, my current rig produces great amounts of vapor and what I have noticed is the hit feels deeper. Instead of just TH at the back of my throat, it goes further in and feels like it is a bit more spread out. I find it more satisfying.

Not amused with the clouds of vapor that obscure my reading material, but put up with it because I like the hit so much better.
